Fantasy Football returns for another season and you can join NetBet’s fantasy league right here!
However, before you join, what players should you pick? Let’s have a look at the best players in their positions from last season to help you select the perfect team.
Cesar Azpilicueta
Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta was the highest performing defender in last year’s Fantasy Football with 165 points. The Spanish player, who was playing on the right-hand side of the defensive three, scored two goals and provided six assists in the 37 games that he played last season. Azpilicueta is an astute signing for any fantasy team and this was the second consecutive year where he’s accrued over 170 points. His points haul of 175 last season was his highest in the game since joining Chelsea ahead of the 2012/13 season.
This season’s price: £6.5 million
Marcos Alonso
It’s a Chelsea first and second in the defender category as left-wing back Marcos Alonso was the second highest with 165 points accrued over the course of the season, 10 fewer than teammate Azpilicueta. However, unlike his teammate, he’s 12 points worse off than he was in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign, where he scored 177 points. Alonso scored seven goals for the Blues last time out, with 2 assists and featured in 13 clean sheets. Discipline cost him though, as he was awarded six yellow cards in his 33 games.
This season’s price: £6.5 million
Nicolas Otamendi
Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi scored an incredible 156 points last campaign, an increase of 56 points from the season before and his best since joining the Citizens. Otamendi’s points accumulation can be seen through the four goals that he scored, alongside the 15 clean sheets that he was a part of in the title-winning defence. He could have had more points, had it not been for the one own goal and nine yellow cards.
This season’s price: £6.5 million
