Fantasy Football returns for another season and you can join NetBet’s fantasy league right here!
However, before you join, what players should you pick? Let’s have a look at the best players in their positions from last season to help you select the perfect team.
David De Gea
Manchester United’s David De Gea was the best goalkeeper in Fantasy Football last year, a whopping 14 points ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson. The Spanish shot stopper conceded just 28 goals last campaign, whilst also keeping 18 clean sheets. De Gea played 37 Premier League games, making 115 saves across the season and he finished up with 172 points, 36 more than he got the previous year and also the highest of his seven years at Old Trafford. He had a poor tournament in Russia though, which might deter many from picking him.
This season’s price: £6.0 million
Ederson Moraes
Manchester City’s Premier League winning goalkeeper Ederson was the second highest in his position in last year’s Fantasy Football, with 158 points. He played one game fewer than De Gea, with 36 appearances, conceded just 26 goals all season and kept 16 clean sheets. In fact, he made just 58 saves all season, such was City’s dominance in possession against opposing teams. The Brazilian also saved two penalties, the most memorable being in the 90th minute away at Crystal Palace to maintain City’s winning run.
This season’s price: £5.5 million
Lukasz Fabianski
Perhaps surprising, but former Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski won the third-most points as a goalkeeper in last year’s game, with 157, just one fewer than Ederson. Swansea were relegated and Fabianski has since moved to West Ham, and the Hammers look to have done some smart business if he performs like he did last season. He only kept 9 clean sheets and conceded 56 goals, but he did make three penalty saves over the course of the season and also made 137 saves. He’s at a cheap price and could be a high points scorer for anyone who picks him.
This season’s price: £4.5 million
