The two pre-season favourites for this season’s Premier League title go head-to-head at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, with the two sides separated by goal difference at the top of the table. City have a six-goal advantage over the Reds, having found the back of the net six times more than Liverpool.
The two sides experienced differing results in midweek, with City winning late on in Hoffenheim, thanks to a goal from David Silva. They desperately needed that win in the Champions League, having lost at home to Lyon in their opener, but all eyes are now back focused on the Premier League, where they’ve been imperious. A draw with Wolves is the only blemish on their record so far, one which has seen them win six of their seven games this season.
Liverpool though, lost at Napoli in midweek, and they’re now without a win in three games in all competitions, having drawn away at Chelsea last weekend and losing to the Blues in the Carabao Cup four days earlier. Their last win came at home against Southampton, where they scored three goals in a game where they were never posed too much difficulty.
Liverpool vs. Manchester City Predictions
Last season’s games between these two were absolutely thrilling and nothing this campaign has suggested that they’ll be any different this time around. A high-scoring thriller should be in order. If Liverpool win, then it’ll be a major boost for them, but if City win, then they could be on course for another runaway title victory.
