Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl LIV Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Preview

Howdy American Football fans! It is finally here. The two current heavyweights of American Football meet in the 54th Super Bowl in Miami on Sunday evening and both teams will want to bring the coveted Lombardi Trophy home.

The 49ers are the National Football Conference (NFC) champions and the Chiefs are the American Football Conference (AFC) champions.

San Francisco finished the 2019 with an NFC best 13-3 record under coach Kyle Shanahan, who is with the team for the third year.

Under Shanahan’s reign, the 49ers resurgence came as something of a surprise as they had a wretched 2018 season with a 4-12 win-loss record and hadn’t recorded a winning record since 2013.

This is the 49ers’ seventh Super Bowl appearance, and first since 2013 when they lost 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Chiefs’ success has been less of a shock as they recorded their fourth AFC title in a row under coach Andy Reid and made the play-offs for the sixth time in seven seasons under Reid’s guidance..

However, this will be Kansas’ first Super Bowl appearance since 1970, when they beat Minnesota Vikings 23-7.

Whatever happens, it should be an absolute corker between two sides who swept all before them in the 2019 campaign.

Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers Key Men and Predictions

It should be a close game between two sides who have had amazing 2019 seasons. Both teams should be full of confidence and ready for Sunday night.

The emergence of Jimmy Garoppolo has been vital to the success of the 49ers. Initially signed by the Patriots as backup to the legendary Tom Brady, Garoppolo has proved an inspired signing for the 49ers at quarterback.

He started in all 16 games last season after missing most of the 2018 campaign with a torn ACL. Garoppolo is renowned for the quality of his passing and ranked in the top five for passing statistics in the NFL.

Deebo Samuel and Raheem Mostert are other vital cogs for the 49ers. Mostert, in particular, is brilliant off the bench and he led the team in rushing and touchdowns in 2019.

For the Chiefs, look no further than Patrick Mahomes II. He was their first draft pick from 2017 and won the NFL MVP award a year later.

Down to Mahomes’ brilliance, the Chiefs ranked second for passing in the NFL in 2019 and his link-up with Travis Kelce will no doubt cause problems to the 49ers.

Damien Williams is another player who has the ability to hurt the 49ers with his excellence in rushing and touchdowns.

The Chiefs should just about edge it and after their high-quality, consistent play in the last seven seasons, no-one would begrudge them it.
