Well, the penultimate day is upon us for our bumper guide to all of our tips this week! Like the previous three days, the standard of racing is packed full of quality and the races don’t get any easier to predict.
There are plenty of fantastic horses on show on day four so without further ado, let’s take a look at our tips on Commonwealth Cup day:-
1.15 Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap 5f
Another very competitive handicap to feast your eyes on kicks of day four! This race is going to be a dash down the famous Ascot straight and any number of horses and in with a shout.
We have picked out two for you; Will to Win (8/1) and Art Power. Will to Win has been in great form and narrowly lost last time out. Art Power is an improving sort who will relish this big field. We give him the narrow verdict.
OUR TIP: Art Power – 3/1
1.50 Albany Stakes (Group 3) 6f
Yet another sprint and yet another tricky race to figure out. Flying Aletha (7/2) will have a big chance coming over from the USA and is sure to attract a lot of popularity.
Mother Earth (11/4) should go close for Aiden O’Brien’s team but we are sweet on the chances of Golden Melody. She won her only race and is a generous price.
OUR TIP: Golden Melody – 7/1
2.25 Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) 5f
Another flying race down the straight and this race calls for our Bet of the Week: The Lir Jet.
He won impressively on his only start to date and with in-form Oisin Murphy in the saddle, he looks a really solid bet to win. At a longer price, Macho Pride (25/1) could run a big race.
OUR TIP and BET OF THE WEEK: The Lir Jet – 9/2
3.00 Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) 1m 4f
A longer race with some household names taking part. Anthony Van Dyck has been held in high regard by his trainer Aiden O’Brien his whole career but hasn’t quite fulfilled his potential. We think he can start by doing that here and give the Irish trainer another Royal Ascot win.
Hamish (9/1) should also run well for James Doyle but we are keen on the chances of the raider from Ireland.
OUR TIP: Anthony Van Dyck – 7/4
3.35 Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) 6f
Along with the Gold Cup, this is arguably the highest class race of the week. Some brilliant horses are set to line up and no better 6f horse than the international star, Kimari. He will take a lot of beating.
Pierre Lapin (7/2) is an interesting contender. Unraced so far as a three-year-old, he could run a big race.
OUR TIP: Kimari – 7/1
4.10 Queen’s Vase (Group 2) 1m 6f
Only nine runners but a really quality field. Al Dabaran (4/1) is a solid pick and will be a popular winner. He is sure to run a fine race.
However, we really like John Gosden’s runner On Guard. He has only raced twice but has untapped potential and should run a huge race at a nice price.
OUR TIP: On Guard – 6/1
4.40 Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap) 1m 4f
This is a good race for the more experienced horse and there are so many in with chances.
There are two horses in particular who have caught our eye. West End Charmer hasn’t got much mileage on the clock for a four-year old and won handsomely on his comeback this season. Le Don De Vie (9/1) is another who looks set to run a good race with Ryan Moore on board. We are going to plump for the former though.
OUR TIP: West End Charmer – 6/1
