The final north London derby of the season promises to be a cracker as Spurs and Arsenal face off on Sunday afternoon (kick off 4.30pm).
I think both sides would admit that this campaign has been a disappointing one. Both clubs have decided to change manager over the course of the season and in Arsenal’s case, it has seen a slight upturn in form.
Spurs, meanwhile, hired Jose Mourinho following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure before Christmas. The away form has been very poor and for a side of Tottenham’s quality to be sitting in ninth is simply not good enough.
Arsenal sit a point and a place above their great rivals in the Premier League but are on a decent little run under Mikel Arteta, including a very impressive 2-0 win against Wolves at Molineux in their last away game.
Neither side is likely to get into Europe but there is still that element of pride that they can play for on Sunday, Who will get the bragging rights until next season?
Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal Predictions 2020
You would expect this to be a game with a lot of riding on it at the business end of the season but it has reached the point where league position is not vitally important, but pride will be.
Spurs have had a mixed bag of results in recent weeks, with a drab 0-0 draw against Bournemouth on Thursday preceded by a 1-0 win at home to Everton and a 3-1 defeat away to Sheffield United.
However, Spurs’ home form has largely been good and that will fill Mourinho with confidence. With Harry Kane back after a long-term injury, they possess more of a threat.
Arsenal have chalked up some very good results in the past few games. That win at Wolves was followed up with a creditable 1-1 draw at home to Leicester when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was back on the scoresheet.
Whilst both sides have an array of attacking talent on show, their defences creak somewhat so we expect a high-scoring draw to be on the cards.
