Man Utd vs Liverpool Preview
There’s a chance that Europa League duties could distract Manchester United in this weekend’s big Super Sunday fixture. But this is a game which even if neither side has anything to play for, is always going to be hotly contested.
Liverpool’s disaster Premier League title defence has found them sitting in a remarkably low position of sixth. They trail the Premier League leaders Manchester City by 23 points, but they’re not actually down and out of the race for fourth place. It’d take a few slips from Chelsea, West Ham and Spurs, but they definitely could qualify for the Champions League.
For United, there’s room to breathe. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team are pretty secure in their Champions League place, and likely will beat Leicester City to finish runners up to local rivals Man City.
With a tricky tie at home to Italian giants Roma coming just a couple of days before and the second leg next week, we could see the visitors coming in distracted to this one, but we’re sure it will make for an interesting game.
Man Utd vs Liverpool Odds
Manchester United are 9/5 for victory, with the draw a 51/20 shot and Liverpool 29/20 for the win.
Man Utd vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.
Manchester United to win, draw no bet – 21/20
The last two results that took place in this fixture in 2021 were a 0-0 league draw and then a 3-2 Manchester United victory in the FA Cup. So why not go for a bit of extra security and back a United draw no bet at just over evens price? It gives you pretty decent value as well as quite good odds that the result you don’t want won’t happen.
Bruno Fernandes to score anytime – 19/10
Mohamed Salah is breathing down Harry Kane’s neck with just one goal separating them in the race for the golden boot. But Bruno Fernandes is just four goals behind Salah, and will be looking to make up some ground in the final few games. With 16 goals in 33 matches, he’s averaging about a goal every couple of games, although recently the Portugeuse attacker has hit a bit of a cold patch. He’s 5/1 to score first and the same price to score last, and we could see him getting back on the scoresheet here.
Liverpool to win & both teams to score – 3/1
We’re not expecting this match to set the world alight or anything, but a 2-1 Liverpool victory wouldn’t be such a bad bet would it? That exact result is 29/4, but we think this market is more interesting given both teams propensity for goalscoring. We’ve already mentioned top golden boot contender Mohammed Salah, but Bruno Fernandes is just a few goals behind him, so a score win for the visitors could happen too if both men are on their games.
