Our expert tipster has cast their eye over the start of the second set of Euro 2020 fixtures and has picked a treble that could set you up with a nice profit midweek!
It’s going to be a fascinating day of fixtures in the European Championships, with all four of the teams competing looking to get off to the right start in the delayed tournament.
We kick off with an actually pretty intriguing matchup between Finland and Russia. We know that Russia are considerable favourites given their opponents weaker team on paper, but the Finnish players and management team will have taken a look at this particular fixture and seen it as their ticket to a stunning journey out of the group stages. They’ll need to be very tight at the back and rely on their goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký, who is probably one of their best players, to bail them out on occasion. Russia will want to exploit their defensive holes, but they could get over eager, particularly if the result against Belgium went particularly poorly against them.
Then it’s on to Turkey v Wales, which is a really fascinating tie as well. Two teams who will see themselves as dark horses, despite what some critics might say, Ryan Giggs’ men will be right up for this. Having faced Italy and Switzerland respectively on their opening days, we’d imagine this one will be a case of two teams very happy to see one another. Expect Gareth Bale to play a massive part in this, and all Wales matches, but we struggle to separate these two teams.
The day ends with another cracker between Switzerland and Italy. The Swiss will be the type of team that invite on Italy, meaning they’ll be free to play their expansive and attractive football, but they will be vulnerable to quick breaks from the underdogs. We don’t see why Switzerland are such heavy underdogs in this one, because from where we’re sitting this is a pretty 50/50, if not maybe 60/40, match.

Russia win and over 1.5 – 23/20
We see goals in this match. Can Russia put a big scoreline on the board here? It’s possible, but we’re also struggling to see a situation where Finland don’t at least create big chances, if not find the scoresheet themselves, so we reckon this will be a Russian win, or maybe a draw, which is priced at 11/4.
Wales to beat Turkey – 2/1
We’re going to learn a lot about Robert Page’s team here, and it seems like they might be able to cause a bit of an upset. They’ll need to keep it tight, and absolutely get the ball to Bale against Turkey!
Italy win to zero – 5/4
We can see a 1-0 win for Mancini’s men in this one, or maybe a 2-0 if they perform really well, so we’re predicting a scoreless performance from the Swiss.
