Belgium v Italy Preview

It’s undoubtedly the most exciting match of the four Euro 2020 quarter-finals, and bookies are really struggling to split the two.

Belgium are the number one ranked team in the world, but their performances haven’t quite set the heather alight, and they could be missing some key players heading into this one.

Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard, two of the best players in the world, let alone the Belgium team, picked up knocks in the last round against Portugal.

Hazard’s brother Thorgan got the winner against the European champions, but they were unable to put an unimpressive Portuguese side to the sword, meaning their odds have widened, which could mean more money for punters with the right bets.

Belgium v Italy Betting Odds

The oddsmakers have named Italy as slight favourites to make it to the semi-finals, while Belgium have likely seen their odds widened due to their injury woes.

Remember that this is a knockout game, so if it goes to extra-time and/or penalties and the team you have backed to win goes through, you have still lost the bet. You must bet on the ‘to qualify’ market to back a team to go through via any method.

Belgium are 47/20 for victory (23/20 to qualify), with the draw a 41/20 shot and Italy coming in as very slight favourites with a price of 7/5 (5/7 to qualify).

Belgium v Italy Betting Tips

Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Belgium to go through23/20

This is an interesting game, but above evens odds for the number one ranked team on the planet to go through seems too good to pass up right now. They may be missing Hazard and De Bruyne, but they still have one of the best goalkeepers out there in Thibaut Courtois, so they’ll certainly be hard to score against them. This market seems the best value there is.

Half-time/Full-time: Tie/Belgium25/4

This one is a bit of a long shot, but it would make you serious money if it came through. Belgium took the lead right before half-time against Portugal, and a repeat of that (Belgium/Tie) is also priced at a gigantic 17/1 if you fancy it. We could see both sides struggle to break the other down earlier, with more chances appearing as the game moves on.

Romelu Lukaku to score anytime7/4

With Cristiano Ronaldo out of the tournament, Lukaku will be hoping to make progress on the Golden Boot, all while helping his team make it to the final, and maybe a major tournament win for the first time. He’ll need a goal or two here, and honestly given his performances so far, it’s hard to bet against him.
