Poland v England Preview
Poland could really make an interesting finish for group I if they manage to overthrow Gareth Southgate’s England this time around in Warsaw. To do it, they’ll need to attack the visitors early and try to capitalise on the slow starts they’ve been making in the last two games. It’s been a long and awkward international break, and England’s players won’t have loved all the travel, between Budapest, London and now Warsaw within a few days. If the hosts can fly out early and try to hit them with an early sucker punch, then we’ve got a game on our hands. However, the longer it stays 0-0, the more comfortable England will get on the ball, and this game will likely get away from Poland. A really interesting part of the Andorra game was the goals from Jesse Lingard and Bukayo Saka, who managed to redeem themselves in lightning quick time at Wembley Stadium after their Euros final demons. It’s only Andorra, but hearing that roar from the England fans will have done the world of good for those players.
Poland v England odds
England are strong 20/31 favourites to win, while the host team Poland are perhaps unfairly wide underdogs at 9/2. A draw is priced at 53/20.

England to win & both teams to score – 3/1
Last time out when Poland came to Wembley, we backed this same market and it was a winner as England ran out with a 2-1 victory. They’ve managed to concede next to no goals since then, including a stunning Euros run where they only let in two, and couldn’t be breached by Hungary or Andorra. But Hungary and Andorra, Poland are not. We reckon that Lewandowski will cause this England defence serious problems, and there are definitely goals in the Poland team. Another 2-1, which is priced at a massive 19/1, seems worth a look.
Half Time/Full Time: Tie/England – 3/1
We really like the look of this 3/1 shot. If you had bet this market in the Hungary game, you would have made a tidy little sum in what was a fairly comfortable win, and we reckon that Southgate’s team haven’t given us any indication that this game will be a great deal different. It could even be 1-1 at the break, given our other bets.
