Leicester City v Manchester City Football Preview
After a disappointing opening day loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Pep Guardiola’s champions have looked back to their best. Prior to the international break, City put ten past Norwich and then Arsenal altogether, conceding no goals in that time, so we could understand why Leicester City fans might be concerned heading into the visit of Man City this weekend.
The hosts in this weekend’s big game have been beaten by West Ham after struggling against Wolves on day one, and looked laboured at times in their 2-1 win over Norwich City before the break, so confidence will be low heading into the visit of the champions.
It’s always fun seeing Riyad Mahrez head back to the ground where he became a Premier League legend all those years ago, and he could end up finding himself on the scoresheet, should Guardiola go for the type of team that facilitates him.
Jamie Vardy will likely be a key player for the hosts, while we expect Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne to be important for Manchester City this weekend, as well as Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling.
Leicester City v Manchester City Football odds
Leicester are pretty heavy underdogs at 9/2 for victory, while Manchester City are slight 4/7 favourites for the win. The draw is priced at59/20, which isn’t the worst price given that we have yet to see the best from Leicester this season.
Leicester City v Manchester City Football betting tips
Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.
Man City win to zero – 9/5
Guardiola’s team are almost as good at stopping goals as they are at scoring them, and that’s really saying something! We haven’t seen a real venom going forward from Leicester City so far this year, and they’ll need to show a lot more than they have thus far to convince us that they can break down that seemingly impenetrable Manchester City backline. Spurs needed the performance of a lifetime just to get the one against them on day one, and we reckon it’ll be similar heroics needed for this one.
Jack Grealish to score anytime – 11/5
He’s one of the most expensive players the Premiership has ever seen, and former Aston Villa star Grealish has to impress in the sky blue if he wants to justify the price tag. He’s already got on the scoresheet, so the nerves should be calmed, and we really fancy this price for him to hit the net again for Manchester City at the King Power Stadium. We also like, in this market, Mahrez at 9/5 against his old club and Jamie Vardy for the hosts at a massive 5/2.
