Liverpool v Man City Football Preview
It’s first v second in this Sunday’s big game when table-toppers Liverpool play host to second-place Manchester City in what is likely to be a title race six pointer as the season progresses. Not that league positions matter too much at this stage of the season, Liverpool have had a strong start to the year and find themselves a point ahead of the baying pack of City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton and Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have yet to lose in their opening six games, winning four just like the teams mentioned but picking up two draws, where the rest have a draw and a loss each already.
Klopp’s team, particularly in last week’s dreadful defensive outing against Brentford, have shown little indication that they could be the new “Invincibles”, but a loss this weekend would seal the deal.
Our NetBet win probability counter has this one as a relatively even clash, with City slightly favoured at 40% and the hosts at 33%, with a draw also pretty close at 27%.
Liverpool will be looking for another high class outing from Mo Salah, while Manchester City’s play will likely come through Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.
The odds are massive for this one, so there are real money making opportunities here if you can find them
We’ve taken a look at some of those odds, and have made out picks and predictions for the weekend’s big game.
Liverpool v Man City Football odds
There is massive value in this game, given that it is so close with the bookies. Liverpool are priced at a massive 9/5, but that only makes them slight underdogs to 7/5 Manchester City. The draw is also worth a look at a mouth-watering 12/5
Liverpool v Man City Football betting tips
Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.
Manchester City to win – 7/5
You won’t get Manchester City at odds like these in any other game this year, and we believe that when you see a price like this you have to go for it. Liverpool were all over the place last weekend, and if it weren’t for their incredible front line could have lost to Brentford. Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, there are goals all over the Manchester City squad this weekend and we believe that they’ll have enough to sneak this result, and make you a surprising amount of money.
Half-time / Full-time – Tie/Man City – 21/4
This is another one, like City’s recent 1-0 win over Chelsea, where we aren’t predicting a one-sided win on either side. Liverpool in this market are also absolutely worth considering at 23/4.
Mohamed Salah to score anytime – 33/20
It’s a pretty good bet whenever you can get above evens odds on Mo Salah finding the net in a Premier League game. We can’t go without recommending this one.
