Arsenal vs Tottenham Football Preview

On paper, this looks to be one of the tightest North London derbies we’ve seen to date! No team has picked up more points than these two in the last five games, with just a point separating third place Tottenham from Arsenal at the top of the table.

Spurs are one of only two undefeated teams thus far – champions Man City being the other – but they make the short trip to the Emirates having not won there in the league in the last decade. You have to venture all the way back to 2010 to find the last three points Spurs picked up in their rivals’ backyard, where Younes Kaboul scored a late winner to complete a memorable comeback.

Since that game around 12 years ago, Arsenal have won seven of the 10 league meetings at home, including a 3-1 victory in this fixture last season. Mikel Arteta’s side have been hugely impressive thus far, but they will need to be wary of a Tottenham side that may have reached another level in their last outing.

Heung-Min Son has finally joined the party. After struggling to get going in the early stages of the campaign, the South Korean scored a delightful hat-trick off the bench against Leicester, followed up by a goal in each of his international appearances. Now that he is firing alongside Harry Kane, Antonio Conte’s side are an even scarier prospect.

But the Gunners have some superstars of their own. Gabriel Jesus has transformed this Arsenal attack, scoring four and assisting three in seven league games. With Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli also finding another gear, they are extremely dangerous themselves. There isn’t an awful lot between the two squads, but the hosts record against Spurs at the Emirates makes it difficult to bet against them.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Football Odds

Arsenal are 21/20 favourites to claim all three points, with the visitors currently at 49/20 to end the long wait for three points on the road against their rivals. Both teams to score is 5/9 and looks a solid option based on the quality of the attacks, with Jesus (7/2) and Kane (4/1) the two seen as most likely to open the scoring.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Betting Tips

*Odds correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Arsenal win and both teams to score – 47/20

We’re backing Arsenal to hand Spurs a first league defeat of the season, but the visitors have scored in all seven of their matches and we can’t see that run ending. The Gunners have an incredible record at home in the derby and they are in the best form post-Arsene Wenger.

Over 1.5 1st half goals – 31/20

This bet has landed in the last six meetings between these two teams – these are great odds for that streak to be extended on Saturday.

Bet Maker: Arsenal win, Over 2.5 goals, Both teams to score, Jesus & Son anytime scorers – 14/1

For those searching for longer odds. Five of the last six North London derbies have featured over 2.5 goals and who better to get on the scoresheet than Jesus and Son? The former has excelled under Arteta, relishing a role as the main man, whilst Son has finally found his feet and looks set to kick on.
