Newcastle to beat Brentford – 4/5
Newcastle will look to build on their 4-1 hammering of newly promoted Fulham against Thomas Frank’s Brentford this weekend. The Magpies have lost just once this season and are undefeated on home soil as they prepare to host a Brentford side without a league win on the road. St. James Park has proven to be a fortress under Eddie Howe, with Newcastle only suffering one home defeat against top-flight opposition in 2022.
Only Everton have conceded fewer than Howe’s solid defence, and Callum Wilson looked sharp following his return from injury. The Bees possess a real threat of their own with the classy Ivan Toney, but they are likely to fall short on Saturday afternoon.
Leicester to beat Bournemouth – 11/10
It was only a matter of time before Leicester got going – there is simply too much quality littered throughout the side for their abysmal form to continue. It comes as no real surprise that James Maddison was at the heart of the Foxes first victory of the season, taking his tally to five goals and two assists in seven games.
Whilst Bournemouth remain undefeated following the sacking of Scott Parker, they have ridden their luck in a couple of draws against Wolves and Newcastle. Dominic Solanke is yet to prove he can effectively lead the line for a Premier League outfit, and if the 25-year-old doesn’t get going soon, the Cherries’ luck might run dry. We sense Leicester are just starting to find their feet, with the points sure to follow the improvement in performance.
Arsenal to draw with Liverpool – 51/20
It’s another massive fixture for Arsenal as they prepare to welcome Liverpool to the Emirates on Sunday. The Gunners are flying high following an emphatic North London derby win, but they will need to remain at their best if they are to claim another three points against Jurgen Klopp’s side. The visitors have had a fairly unimpressive start to the season, but have still only tasted defeat once in the league.
Mikel Arteta’s league leaders are without a win in five against the travelling Reds, but given Liverpool have not won away from home thus far, now is as good a time as any to host them. This clash promises to be one of the most entertaining of the campaign, with two attacking sides going head-to-head. All of this season’s statistics point towards a home win, but it’s never a wise move to bet against Liverpool. Both would probably take a point.
