West Ham to beat Southampton – 15/11
Four consecutive defeats have seen Southampton plummeting towards the bottom of the table, with just a single point keeping them above of the relegation zone. No team has picked up fewer points at home than the Saints, who have failed to find the net in four of their last six games. The hosts won two of their three meetings with West Ham last season, but the Hammers arrive at the south coast in vastly improved form.
The visitors have won five of their last six in all competitions, including an impressive 1-0 win away at Belgian giants Anderlecht and a 3-1 beating of Fulham last weekend. Summer signing Gianluca Scamacca is starting to find his feet in England – the Italian has been on the scoresheet in three successive games. These two sides are heading in different directions.
Chelsea to beat Aston Villa & under 3.5 goals – 7/6
Chelsea are in the midst of experiencing that new manager bounce, with four wins in five since Graham Potter took charge at Stamford Bridge. They have kept three clean sheets on the spin and impressed in a 2-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro. They travel to the Midlands to face an Aston Villa side that have won just once in their last seven league outings.
Steven Gerrard’s side have lost all momentum we saw when the former Liverpool man took over, and pressure is now beginning to build after a decent amount of money was spent in the transfer window. Eight of their nine league games this season have featured under 3.5 goals, with Villa not having scored more than once in a game since matchday two. There could be another clean sheet on the cards for the travelling Blues.
Arsenal to beat Leeds & over 2.5 goals – 29/25
Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Liverpool was the latest in a long line of impressive performances. It was a fifth straight victory and a 10th win in 11 games in all competitions. No team has accumulated more points on their travels this season as they prepare to make the trip north to face a struggling Leeds team.
The hosts are without a win in five, and although they are undefeated at Elland Road this season, a wounded Chelsea are the only real strong opposition they have faced. The Gunners arrive in Yorkshire absolutely brimming with confidence following their second league win over Liverpool in seven years – it’s difficult to see Jesse Marsch finding a way to deal with Mikel Arteta’s dynamic attack. Arsenal win and over 2.5 goals has landed in nine of their last 10 matches and is a solid option once again!
