Leicester vs Manchester City Football Preview

Leicester prepare to host the champions this weekend having seen a slight resurgence in form. Following six successive defeats in just over a month, the Foxes have now lost just once in their last five and have won back-to-back games for the first time this campaign. Despite having the second worst defensive record in the top-flight, Brendan Rodgers’ side have now kept three clean sheets in a row, although that will be expected to come to an end in Saturday’s early kick-off.

City bounced back from their first league defeat of the season against Liverpool with a 3-1 win at home to Brighton. Erling Haaland bagged yet another two goals, taking his league tally to 17 in 11, whilst Kevin De Bruyne picked up an 11th goal contribution (2 goals, 9 assists) in as many games. Both are on track for record-breaking seasons, but City still trail league leaders Arsenal by two points ahead of matchday 14.

With the Gunners’ form showing little sign of slowing up, Pep Guardiola will be well aware that his side cannot afford to drop too many points. They have only managed a disappointing eight points from a possible 15 on the road this season, with just two wins from five. However, the Sky Blues will be huge favourites heading to the Midlands, and they’ll be fully expected to dominate a Leicester side only just beginning to find their feet.

Leicester vs Manchester City Football Odds

It’s probably not too surprising to see City make the trip as 1.28 favourites, with Leicester 9.00 underdogs and a draw priced at 5.60. Leicester’s improvements have seen the both teams to score market drop to 1.79, with Haaland (3.00) and Jamie Vardy (9.80) leading the odds to open the scoring for their respective teams.

Leicester vs Manchester City Betting Tips

*Odds correct at the time of publication and subject to change.

Man City win and over 3.5 goals – 2.43

This bet has landed in six of City’s 11 league games. Leicester may appear to have tightened up at the back, but they have not faced a team of City’s calibre in recent outings. Rodgers rarely sets his team up in a low block. Instead, they will look to go at City, which in turn will hand the visitors chances. There could be goals in this for Haaland.

Both teams to score: no – 1.95

We think this market is under-priced. Five of City’s eight league wins have been accompanied by a clean sheet. Leicester scored four against Wolves last time out, but they only had five shots – that rate is completely unsustainable.
