Wolves vs Brighton
We’re kicking things off in the Midlands where a massively out of form Wolves look to climb out of the relegation zone with a win over Brighton. Since sacking Bruno Lage, only Leeds have picked up fewer points than Wolves, only Nottingham Forest have scored fewer goals, and no team has conceded more. The hosts are in real trouble this season and they will be without their only real striker Diego Costa for this fixture thanks to the former Chelsea man picking up a remarkable first Premier League red card.
Brighton have hardly been in top form themselves since Graham Potter departed, but they picked up a first win under Roberto De Zerbi when they welcomed Chelsea to the Amex last weekend. The Seagulls looked somewhere close to their best in the 4-1 hammering of the Blues and we’re backing them to secure back-to-back wins for the first time under the new manager.
Brighton win – 2.13
Aston Villa vs Manchester United
The second pick in our monster treble is for Man United to continue their decent run of form at Villa Park. United ground out a 1-0 win against West Ham last time out, making it five clean sheets in six and eight games without defeat. They will be favourites to claim another three points against an Aston Villa side lacking real direction.
The hosts were on the end of a 4-0 beating at St James’ Park on matchday 14 – the third time in four games they have failed to find the net. They have performed slightly better on home soil, but we still don’t fancy their chances against this rock-solid United defence. Erik ten Hag’s team have won five of their previous seven away games following the embarrassment at Brentford, only losing once at the Etihad. These odds represent cracking value for an in-form side.
Manchester United win – 2.01
Southampton vs Newcastle
Newcastle continue to impress as the weeks go by. They have now won five of their last six games and are unbeaten in eight. Their previous two away games have seen them earn four points against Man United and Tottenham, with the Magpies strong favourites to emerge victorious once more at St. Mary’s. Newcastle have kept three clean sheets in four matches as they prepare to face one of the lowest scoring attacks in the division.
Southampton have won just once in eight and have failed to score more than one goal in any of those games. With their lack of threat going forward, we like the look of another Newcastle win and clean sheet.
Newcastle win to nil – 3.25
