Liverpool to beat Wolves – 1.84
There has to come a point when Liverpool turn this season around – just look at the quality in their team. For all of their defensive injury concerns, a trip to Wolves could provide the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways. No team has scored fewer goals (12) in the Premier League this season and they have failed to find the net in five of their last 10 home matches.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been nowhere near their best but the return to fitness of Darwin Nunez should provide a welcome boost. The Uruguayan is adept at stretching the opposition defence and opens space for the likes of Mo Salah to operate him. They should beat a relegation-threatened Wolves.
Brentford to beat Southampton – 1.84
Brentford have gone from strength to strength this campaign and have been on fire in 2023. Only Arsenal have accumulated more points than Brentford in the last five games, as they prepare to host a Southampton side with two wins in their last 15 league matches.
Nathan Jones has a mountain to climb if he is to keep the Saints from returning to the Championship for the first time since 2011/12. A trip to the Community Stadium is as tough as they come at the moment, with a seventh defeat in their last 10 away games looking somewhat inevitable.
Newcastle to beat West Ham – 1.56
Most of us are just waiting for this Newcastle campaign to come crashing down. They can’t achieve Champions League football, can they? Well, everything they’re doing on the pitch suggests they can and will. Their Premier League unbeaten run now stands at 15 matches, with 11 goals conceded in 20 games the best in the division by a distance.
In contrast, West Ham are in real danger of being sucked into the bottom three. No team has collected fewer points (5) on the road than the Hammers this season, with David Moyes’ side winning just once in 10 away league matches. They face an incredibly difficult task in claiming points from St. James’ Park.
Nottingham Forest to beat Leeds – 2.56
There is not a lot between these two sides this season, but Nottingham Forest seem to have an extra gear at the City Ground. The 3-0 EFL Cup semi-final defeat to Man United was a first defeat in nine matches at home, a run that has seen Steve Cooper’s side dispatch of Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as pick up a point against Chelsea.
Leeds have the joint worst away record in the top flight ahead of their trip to Nottingham, and although they always put up a fight under Jesse Marsch, we think they’ll be on the end of a narrow defeat.
