Brighton to beat Crystal Palace – 1.97
It’s always a tasty affair when these two meet, but they are in hugely contrasting form heading into Saturday’s game. Brighton are unbeaten in six games in 2023 and arrive at Selhurst Park having accumulated the fourth most points in the previous 10 league games.
Things have gone from bad to worse for Palace since the turn of the year. They are without a win in six in all competitions, failing to score in three of those matches. The injury to their main man Wilfried Zaha is cause for concern, with the Eagles harnessing little attacking threat in his absence. Brighton may not have beaten Palace since 2019, but they are brimming with confidence ahead of the M25 derby.
Tottenham to beat Leicester – 2.05
Despite beating Aston Villa 4-2 in the Midlands derby last weekend, there are still plenty of issues at the King Power. Only Southampton have picked up fewer points on home soil than the Foxes, who have not won a league game at home since October. They face another tough test when they welcome the league’s second most effective away force on matchday 23.
Tottenham’s 1-0 win over City will have boosted morale in North London. Harry Kane’s winner took his tally to 17 for the season and lifted Spurs to within point of the top four. They have beaten Leicester in four successive meetings, scoring 16 goals in the process. They should come out on top against an inconsistent Leicester side.
Fulham to beat Nottingham Forest – 1.89
Nottingham Forest might be in a rich vein of form, but their positive recent league results have all come against relegation rivals. It’s also worth noting that they don’t travel particularly well. Steve Cooper’s side have picked up 18 points at the City Ground and just six in away games.
A trip to Craven Cottage will prove a step too far, as they prepare to face a Fulham side that have lost three times at home all season. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s goals have slowed down in 2023, but Marco Silva’s team have found a way to grind out results with defensive resilience. They’ll be favourites to put an end to Forest’s run.
Newcastle to beat Bournemouth – 1.52
Bournemouth couldn’t buy three points at the moment – they have lost seven of their last eight matches and have won just once in 12 league games. They have failed to find the net in five matches since Christmas, which doesn’t bode well as they prepare to host the division’s best defence.
Newcastle’s 12 goals conceded in 21 league games is seriously impressive and anything other than three points at the Vitality would come as a surprise. Eddie Howe has the Magpies firing, with another win crucial to keep the pressure on those below.
