Fulham vs Arsenal Football Preview
Arsenal’s last-minute victory last weekend was huge. Not only for their lead at the top, but for maintaining momentum and confidence as we approach the business end of the campaign. Mikel Arteta’s side make the short trip to Craven Cottage with the best away record in the league – no team has won more points (31), scored more goals (25) or conceded fewer (9) on the road.
Fulham have impressed on home soil. They have lost just three times in 16 home matches in all competitions this season. Defeat to Brentford last time out ended a seven-match unbeaten run, with Marco Silva’s side six points adrift of the top four.
Arsenal had to come from a goal down to claim all three points in the reverse fixture, extending their record against Fulham to a decade without defeat. The last time the Cottagers silenced Arsenal was 2012, with goals from Steve Sidwell and Bobby Zamora completing a late comeback.
Fulham have managed to continue picking up good results since the turn of the year, in spite of main man Aleksandar Mitrovic’s dip in form. The Serbian striker has not scored in eight appearances since January 3rd. Fulham fans will be hoping he finds his shooting boots in time for a visit from the league leaders this weekend.
Premier League Betting Odds
The visitors are strong favourites but there is still some value in an Arsenal win at 1.55. A Fulham win is currently at 5.70, with a draw priced at 4.00. Both teams to score is at 1.81 and either team to keep a clean sheet is at 1.93.
There have been three or more goals in four of the last five meetings between these teams, with the odds at 1.77 for over 2.5 on Sunday. Arsenal’s league top scorer Gabriel Martinelli is among the favourites at 6.90 to break the deadlock, followed by Bukayo Saka (7.00). Mitrovic isn’t in the greatest form and can be backed at 7.40 to score first.
Fulham vs Arsenal Betting Tips
Arsenal win and both to score – 3.25
Arsenal have kept just two clean sheets in their last nine games, including conceding twice against now bottom of the table Bournemouth in their last outing. Fulham have found the next in each of their last six matches. You’d expect Arsenal to come out on top in the end but Fulham will undoubtedly make it difficult.
Gabriel Martinelli or Martin Odegaard to score at any time – 2.03
Martinelli has been in scintillating form since his position has come under threat by Leandro Trossard. The Brazilian has scored four in his last four games, taking his Premier League tally to 11. Odegaard has found the net nine times himself this season and is a threat from anywhere within 30 yards.
