Brighton to beat Brentford – 1.62
This is a cracking tie between two of the league’s form teams. Only Arsenal and Man City have won more points in the previous 10 games than Brighton and Brentford, who currently sit tied on 42 points just five adrift of Europe. We’re giving a very slight edge to the Seagulls, who have looked sensational under Roberto De Zerbi.
The hosts have lost just twice in their last 15 outings as they prepare to face a Brentford side that have tasted defeat twice in 10. Brighton have kept three consecutive clean sheets at home, and although they face tough task in nullifying Ivan Toney, they will be favourites to come out on top.
Nottingham Forest to draw with Wolves – 3.02
This has got draw written all over it. Forest are winless in six but have typically performed far better on home soil this campaign – they have lost twice in 13 at the City Ground. We fancy their chances of earning a hard-fought point against a Wolves side that have won once in six.
They were beaten 4-2 at home last time out by Leeds and lost Jonny and Matheus Nunes to red cards in the process. They are struggling for form have shown no sign of fixing their goalscoring woes. We could be in for a drab affair in Nottingham.
West Ham to beat Southampton – 1.72
We have seen glimpses from West Ham in the past month. Not enough to convince us they’ll stay up, but just enough that they should navigate a home tie against a poor Southampton side. The Hammers are now unbeaten in three, including a 4-0 beating of AEK Larnaca in the Conference League last time out. It’s a must-win at home.
Southampton survived against 10-man United at Old Trafford and nicked a late point against Spurs before the international break. But unless they start picking up wins, they’re destined for a return to the Championship.
Newcastle to draw with Manchester United – 3.39
At full strength, you would probably just give favour United. However, they will be without Casemiro, who has proven on many occasions he is the glue holding Erik ten Hag’s side together. When you also factor in the injury concerns surrounding Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer, United could be forced to field last season’s Scott McTominay and Fred midfield combo.
Newcastle have still only lost to Liverpool at home this season. This is a massive game – a win would take them level on points with United and they’ll be raring to go in front of an electric St. James’ Park.
