Crystal Palace to beat Everton – 2.05
There were plenty on the fence about Patrick Vieira’s sacking, but nine points from three games and Roy Hodgson has almost saved Palace from relegation. They look revitalised under the league’s oldest manager, who seems to be getting the best from his players.
There is plenty of work to do if Everton are to stay up. They are hovering outside the bottom three on goal difference but could plummet back into the danger zone with defeat this weekend. Unfortunately for Toffees fans, their side has not travelled well this season – only Nottingham Forest have won fewer points away from home. It’s hard to see them taking anything away from a bouncing Selhurst Park.
Aston Villa to beat Brentford – 2.77
We were discussing Villa and relegation in the same sentence at one stage this season. Unai Emery has worked wonders and now has his side on the brink of European football. Five consecutive wins and an eight-match undefeated run has left Villa just six points adrift of the top four.
Brentford’s form is trending in the opposite direction. They have lost three on the spin and are without a win in five outings. They are always a danger with star striker Ivan Toney, but they will struggle to contend with a well-oiled Villa outfit.
Bournemouth to beat West Ham – 2.73
This game on the south coast could be pivotal come the end of the season. Just two points separate Bournemouth and West Ham in 14th and 15th, but they could both still be sucked into the relegation scrap. We’re just about siding with the hosts in this one after their incredible comeback at Tottenham.
Just when you think West Ham are stringing together some good performances, they drop a stinker. It’s tough to know what you’ll get from David Moyes’ side, and although they’ll be slight favourites, we can see the Cherries taking one step closer to safety.
Newcastle to draw with Tottenham – 3.75
This has got draw written all over it. Spurs would probably take a point at St. James’ Park, and they’ll set up to get just that. They will always cause a threat with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, but they haven’t kept a clean sheet in five.
Newcastle have won five of their previous six but are safe in the knowledge that a point would see them retain their advantage in the race for the top four. These are two pretty evenly matched sides, and a score draw looks a solid bet this weekend.
