UFC London: Aspinall vs Tybura Preview
Let’s kick things off with the main event where Wigan-born Tom Aspinall looks to climb the heavyweight rankings in this top 10 clash. Aspinall shot toward the top with five successive finishes in his first five UFC appearances, including an impressive submission victory over Alexander Volkov in London. His rapid rise was stemmed when a knee injury 15 seconds into his fight with Curtis Blaydes left him unable to continue. Now with another top 10 opponent standing across from him, Aspinall needs a win to regain momentum and strengthen his bid to become number-one contender.
Eight years his senior, Tybura is a UFC veteran heading to London off the back of seven wins in eight fights, most notably knockouts against Greg Hardy and Walt Harris. While the 24-7 Tybura is a BJJ black belt, he tends to do the majority of his best work on the feet. Despite six of his wins coming via submission, the most recent was almost a decade ago in 2014, before he joined the UFC.
Aspinall has incredibly heavy hands, with nine of his 12 wins coming via stoppage. But the 30-year-old has enjoyed a lot of success on the mat of late, with two of his previous three wins by submission. With four takedowns averaged every 15 minutes and 100% takedown accuracy, he could well find joy against an opponent with a lacklustre 79% takedown defence.
Both men are as game as they come, and we expect most of the work to be done on the feet. Here Aspinall should be quicker and lighter on his than Tybura, with the 6’5” Englishman moving more like a middleweight. He won’t be afraid to take things to the ground either, where we could see some of his best jiu-jitsu to date.

UFC London Betting Tips
Aspinall vs Tybura: Under 1.5 Rounds – 1.59
There is a clear quality discrepancy between these two fighters. Aspinall will be looking for a statement win following his injury lay-off, and we know he tends to come flying out the blocks. All five of his UFC wins have come in the first 1.5 rounds, with three first-round KOs, a first-round armbar, and a second-round rear naked choke (1:09 mins in).
Tom Aspinall, Nathaniel Wood and Lerone Murphy to win – 3.09
We expect these three to be a class above. Nathaniel Wood is coming into this fight following back-to-back unanimous decisions, while Andre Fili has won just once in his last four bouts. Lerone Murphy has been tipped as the next best thing in British MMA and faces a big test against 11-1-1 Josh Culibao. A win would see Murphy take a huge step toward the rankings.
