Well, it’s fair to say the Premier League is back in full swing. Unsurprisingly, Manchester City lead the way. Can anyone stop Pep’s men from making this a one-team league? It certainly doesn’t look like it’ll be Manchester United as their shaky start to the season continues. With all to play for at the bottom, clashes at the top, and more drama inbound; let’s do our Score Predictor for matchday 4!

Manchester City v Fulham
To be honest, you wouldn’t want to play Manchester City at the moment. The treble winners are in machine mode, going through pretty much everything in their way. Erling Haaland is acting as a front-man wrecking ball and continuing where he left off last season. But, they did make hard work of things last week and it took a last-minute Rodri belter to finish off the Blades.
Fulham are, to be honest, looking good. They played some good stuff last season and manager Marco Silva is doing a really good job over in West London. They will also be riding high after knocking Tottenham out of the League Cup this week. Could they go to the Etihad and cause an upset? No chance. City look imperious, they are just scarily good. It’s a real possibility they go unbeaten this year. If you asked Fulham fans to take a 2 – 0 loss right now I think most would. Then again, stranger things have happened in football….
Manchester City to win – 1.14
Score Predictor: 5 – 0
Brentford v Bournemouth
It’s an intriguing fixture. Brentford find themselves 9th in the table having not lost a game yet in the league, while Bournemouth find themselves 16th and hovering above relegation (something they might need to get used to). Brentford are getting used to life without Ivan Toney, and it’s not been too bad for the Bees. An opening day draw with a good Spurs side and a draw away at Palace last week will probably suit Thomas Frank. Although, they’ll want to get back to winning ways this weekend at home.
You have to worry about Bournemouth. The Cherries have had a tough start to the season, and although it’s probably not time to start panicking yet, the smaller, in-house alarms will be beginning to sound unless they can grab some wins soon. Brentford has proven a tough place to go, and they’re playing some really good stuff under Thomas Frank. You can see them going and taking all three points this weekend and continuing their good start to the season.
Brentford to win – 1.71
Score Predictor: 3 – 1
Burnley v Tottenham
I wonder what Vincent Kompany is thinking about? Can I call Pep for some advice? His team looked so brilliant last season in the Championship but they have struggled so far to recreate that form, with two losses and a -5 goal difference. The expansive style of football has served them well but it is having worrying returns in the Premier League. How long until big Vince is under pressure? They’ll want some results soon.
On the other hand, Spurs are really enjoying life under big Ange! It’s a side that looks revitalised, and with the backing of fans, players and pundits alike, things seem to be going well in North London. Two wins in three against decent opposition, and a positive feel around Tottenham for the first time in a while. However they come off the back of a League Cup defeat to Fulham in mid-week and Turf Moor can be a tough place to go, so it certainly won’t be easy. Another test for the new-look Spurs.

Chelsea v Nottingham Forest
Big spenders Chelsea take on Forest at home. Two sides with very different ambitions meet at Stamford Bridge this weekend. The Blues gave newbies Luton a thorough welcome last weekend battering them 3 – 0 at home. The league’s top spenders have a completely new look under Pochettino and will be high on confidence after a good result last week. Can they put together a good run of games and show the rest of the league that they are real title contenders? They certainly have the players and quality to make a push. It’s just whether they can find the consistency and a system that gets the most out of their players.
On the other hand, Nottingham Forest will want to play a similar game to last week and not throw things away. They will be gutted about how last weekend panned out. Throwing away a two-goal lead at Old Trafford is heartbreaking. The question is whether they can bounce back and rise to the challenge again, this time taking something from the game. But Forest aren’t good away from home. It’s going to take some serious steel for them to get anything from this game.
Chelsea – 1.38
Score Predictor: 3 – 0
