Manchester United to beat Brentford – 1.68
We know what you’re thinking, that’s a losing bet already. Just hear us out. There were signs of life at Old Trafford in their 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray. If it weren’t for an Andre Onana howler, there’s every chance they would have gone on to claim all three points. Rasmus Hojlund is someone who caught the eye, and full of confidence, he’ll be hoping to snag his first league goal on Saturday.
Brentford started well but have since failed to reach the heights they managed last season. They are without a win in five, with a 3-1 defeat at home to Everton particularly worrying for Thomas Frank. It’s a big ask fo the Bees to end that poor form in Manchester.
Manchester City to beat Arsenal – 2.41
It’s a huge game; one that could have massive ramifications in this title race. When you look at the head-to-head, it doesn’t make for pretty reading for the Gunners. They’ve not beaten City in a Premier League game since 2015. To put that into perspective, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud nabbed the goals, with Mesut Ozil notching up two assists.
Sure, there have been signs of City weakness, but they always turn up when the pressure is on. Pep Guardiola’s side knows no other way. The Sky Blues have won seven of their previous eight games at the Emirates and we can’t see them faltering in this mammoth clash.
Ipswich Town to beat Preston – 1.67
Down to the Championship where Kieran McKenna’s high-flying Ipswich Town host Preston. After storming to a 98-point automatic promotion from League One, Ipswich have picked up from where they left off. They’ve won eight of their opening 10 league games and came from 2-0 down to claim the scalp of Wolves in the EFL Cup.
Preston are another side that have Premier League ambitions, but a 4-0 drubbing at home to West Brom will have done no favours for their confidence. There aren’t many trickier places to go right now than Portman Road.
Leeds to beat Bristol City – 1.52
It’s a matter of time before Leeds start climbing the table. They boast one of the most promising squads in the division that features players who would do a job for Premier League sides. The addition of Joel Piroe looks an astute one, with the former Swansea man already rediscovering his goalscoring form of last campaign.
Bristol City look destined for another mid-table finish. There is no consistency in their results. Elland Road is as tough a place to go as any and they’d do well to steal a point.
Leicester to beat Stoke – 1.53
The Foxes are a cheat code in this league. Jamie Vardy is in fact having a party, as is academy graduate Kasey McAteer. Their squad is levels above the teams they will be facing week in, week out, and we don’t see a world in which they don’t bounce straight back up into the top flight.
Stoke are stuck in no man’s land and have been for some time. They are always too good to be relegated, but never threaten the play-offs. We expect much the same from the Potters this season.
