NBA Season Preview
As we get ourselves set for tip-off on October 24th, when the Lakers take on the reigning champions, there are so many storylines and narratives taking place ahead of another big season!
There have been some unexpected trades and apprehensive fans waiting patiently for the start of another season. Some teams will be aiming to maintain their dynasties, while others seek to establish new ones. Some are focused on proving their worth, and a few are eager to experiment with fresh rosters. Either way, it’s going to be another huge season. Let’s go!
The Favourites
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets come into this one with virtually the same championship-winning roster from last year. After finishing 53-29 last season and winning the NBA championship for the first time in franchise history, this team has more confidence than ever. With Nikola Jokic, is anyone going to be able to stop them?
However, second-season syndrome is real. While they might have the undisputed MVP, last season they had an unbelievable run of form that will be really hard to re-create. The previous four seasons before their championship were filled with disappointing playoff exits, sparking questions of championship success. With the same roster this year, it’ll be about keeping up the momentum going into this one and making sure they don’t fall into their old habits.
Golden State Warriors
While the dynasty of the late 2010s may have ended, this team consistently competes in the playoffs. They had a brief setback in the 2019-20 season, but they quickly rebounded with a championship a couple of seasons ago, maintaining a continuous streak of success. With three championships in the late 2010s, they undoubtedly built a dynasty.
This year, they could well be back to their best as their slightly older side seems to all be back fit and looking for a big season to set them on their way to building something great again. Not only has Klay Thompson been looking fit and good again, they have added an all-time great in Chris Paul. Along with the ever-incredible Steph Curry, it could be another unstoppable Warriors side.
Milwaukee Bucks
As October began, the Milwaukee Bucks were already considered championship contenders for the upcoming season. However, at the start of the new month, a significant late offseason trade unfolded, which appeared to have a profound impact on the landscape of several NBA teams. The Bucks sent point guard Jrue Holiday and a 2029 first-round draft pick to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for seven-time All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.
It was a seismic trade that shook the league and took the Bucks from relative outsiders for another title to maybe the strongest team in the league. Lillard’s addition to the Bucks also bolsters Giannis Antetokounmpo’s case, as another All-Star joins the team. Lillard’s arrival has strengthened the Bucks, and they are determined to seek redemption and reclaim their throne in the Eastern Conference.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics have been there or thereabouts for the last few seasons and it just feels like they need a breakthrough to get themselves the ring they have probably deserved for the last couple of years. Years past for the Celtics have been filled with countless disappointing playoff exits and failures to achieve what their roster deserves. That said, the Celtics have made the playoffs for nine consecutive years, remaining a consistent threat in the league. Each season, it appears they are going to do it but stumble somehow.
With Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and a few other stars bolstering the roster, it is a great team. They have also added Kristaps Porzingis to an already good starting lineup to ensure they’ll have the big men in there. There’s no doubt that this Celtics team will perform throughout the season. The real question is whether they have finally assembled a roster capable of making a playoff run that can come through in the clutch moments.

NBA Betting Tips
NBA Champions: Golden State Warriors @ 13.00
Although there’s no doubt that this Golden State side is growing older, they still have one of the strongest squads in the league that knows how to get it done. The side has three of the best scorers of the last 20 years. Could they build another dynasty with the plethora of young talent coming through and the older veterans?
Rookie of the Year: Victor Wembanyama @ 1.80
All the chat this year has been circulating around Victor. After impressing at college and rightly getting himself the first-round pick, it’s now time for this guy to put himself to the test in the big leagues. But he’s already putting up some pretty sensational numbers in the pre-season and there’s no doubt he’s ready to go in the big time.
Eastern Conference Winners: Miami Heat @ 10.00
There’s just something about the Heat. No matter how much stronger the sides around them get, they find a way to win and play with some real menace no matter what the circumstances are. With Jimmy Butler dragging this team along and the heartbreak of last season fresh in the memory, this could be another big year for the heat.
