Real Madrid to beat Braga – 1.47
Real Madrid travel to Braga in this one. Despite a convincing 2-0 win this weekend for this Braga side, Madrid will still have too much for them. Braga’s recent impressive form sets them up well for a clash against the star-studded Real Madrid side. While Madrid’s quality and experience are undeniable, they have sometimes been slow away from home. But don’t forget, Madrid seem to be a different beast in Europe. With two wins from two, Real will be eager to keep their good run going. Add to this the unbelievable squad they have and you can see why they are second favourites to win the Champions League again this year.
However, this weekend, they were held to a 1-1 draw against a good Sevilla side. They will be fired up to make sure they don’t miss out on this one and with Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, and the star team around them, Madrid will get the job done and bounce back here against a Braga side that are yet to win in the year’s Champions League.
Manchester City to beat Young Boys – 1.17
Something seemed to happen to Manchester City when they lost Rodri. They were looking like they might win the treble again. However, there’s been some bumps in the road. But, they are the the treble winners. With world-class quality all over the pitch and a host of incredible attacking talent, you don’t envy the job Young Boys have to do. After a win this weekend against a good Brighton side, they’ll feel confident heading into this one.
The biggest boost for City has been the return of Rodri and all the quality the centre midfielder brings with him. They managed to beat a tricky Brighton side this weekend at home in a game that could have been an upset. On the other hand, Young Boys drew at home this weekend and haven’t been in top form. Manchester City will make light work of the Young Boys this week.
Newcastle to beat Dortmund – 1.67
Will the European dream continue for Newcastle this week? After beating a good Crystal Palace side last weekend, they will be feeling good coming into this one. The atmosphere at St James’ Park was unbelievable against PSG. Every tackle cheered like a goal and every goal took the roof off. It’s going to be one of the most difficult places to go for anyone, and after their demolition of PSG, who looked completely out of their depth, Dortmund will arrive a little worried.
For Dortmund, they have been in good form. After beating Union Berlin and Werder Bremen in their last two fixtures, they arrive to the North East in good form. But Newcastle will just have too much. They are quickly becoming one of the best sides, not only in the Premier League, but across Europe. Eddie Howe has the whole city bouncing and going to St James is going to be a difficult task for the best of them. Just ask PSG….
Atletico Madrid to beat Celtic – 1.90
It’s been a decent start for Atletico this season. They have been okay in Europe, winning one and drawing the other, leaving them top of the group as things stand. They have also been in good form in the league, having already beaten Real Madrid this season and sitting fourth with just three points between them and the leaders. Diego Simeone has once again built an industrious side that can mix it with the best of them, whether that’s in Europe or in the League.
Celtic on the other hand look completely out of their depth in Europe. While they still continue to dominate in the Scottish Prem, they have been woeful in Europe and have lost both of their matches in the Champions League so far. While they may take hope that it’s at home and their home crowd can pull them through, Diego Simeone’s side has been to tougher places. It’s going to be a rough night for Celtic.
Bayern Munich to beat Galatasaray – 1.43
For Bayern, this might be the toughest test of the competition so far. Going away to Turkey, and especially Galatasaray, is famously difficult. For Bayern, they come off the back of another win this weekend in the Bundesliga. With Kingsley Coman and Harry Kane putting them two up within 16 minutes, it was always going to be hard for Mainz to get back into the game. However, this is a completely different affair, and they will have to be on top form against Galatasaray if they are to silence their famously aggressive crowd.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray have been in really good form. They won a massive game last time out, beating Besiktas, and also recorded a famous win at Old Trafford a few weeks ago. However, Bayern are one of the best teams in Europe. While there is every chance that the home side make things difficult, ultimately, with their star quality and world-class ability, Bayern Munich simply won’t lose.
