Liverpool to beat Bournemouth – 1.52
The Reds seem to be back. They also enjoy winning this competition and it could be exactly what Jurgen Klopp’s side needs to really get themselves back to their best. A little bit of silverware is never a bad thing. After a derby day victory and a convincing home win last weekend, they are one of the favourites to go all the way.
For Bournemouth, they will not be looking forward to a trip to in-form Liverpool. They did manage to edge out Burnley this weekend and take victory, but this is a completely different affair. Maybe going out here wouldn’t be the worst thing as they can concentrate on their league form. It’s going to be a convincing win for the Reds and they are one of the teams likely to go all the way.
Arsenal to beat West Ham – 2.11
Arsenal were very impressive at the weekend. Their dismantling of Sheffield United is another example of just how far this side has come. They will want some silverware though. They deserve something for the way they have been playing lately and this could be the competition for them. Along with Liverpool, they are up there as favourites to lift the trophy. The only issue could be squad depth, but you’d still fancy them to get it done.
On the other hand, West Ham are having a little blip. A home loss to Everton last weekend was less than ideal and David Moyes’ side is in desperate need of some results. But Arsenal have a great record at the London Stadium and the Hammers are in for another tough match. Arsenal will have too much for their London rivals.
Middlesbrough to beat Exeter City – 1.77
For Exeter, it’s been a hell of a journey. The small side has taken some big scalps on their journey here, but this one could well be a step too far. As they welcome the Championship side, they will be hoping for a miracle. Their recent home form has been really poor leading into this which isn’t a good sign. Although they beat Luton to get here, that night is probably the best it’s going to get.
On the other hand, Middlesbrough are playing some impressive stuff. Although they lost at the weekend at home to Stoke, their form before has been really good. They got a lucky draw here and will want to make the most of it and take on a big side next if they can get through Exeter.
Everton to beat Burnley – 1.89
The boos seem to have stopped for Everton and they are putting together a little run of form! Boosted by the return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, they seem to have found their feet. A win last weekend away at West Ham will have improved confidence massively. Is Sean Dyche finally starting to get the most out of his side? The big question is whether he can get one over his former team and carry on the good run. They are likely to.
It’s been a really tough start to Premier League life in management for Vincent Kompany. His expansive style doesn’t seem to be bringing success. Could he become a casualty? Although the two sides find themselves in similar places in the table, this one will be tough for Burnley given their lack of form.
Newcastle to beat Manchester United – 3.16
In this repeat of last year’s final, Newcastle will fancy their chances. United are in full meltdown mode. After a poor display in the Manchester derby, pundits, players, and fans alike are wondering what’s going to happen to their club. As it stands, they are in turmoil. The weekend’s display showed very little positivity and they face a bang in-form Newcastle side. It’s got a Newcastle win written all over it.
Things couldn’t be more different for Newcastle. They are one of the most in-form sides in Europe. Although they may have had a blip against Borussia Dortmund, you can see the quality and team spirit they have to bounce back. A win here wouldn’t be surprising at all given their good form and togetherness, not to mention the system they have all bought into.
