New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, both hovering around .500 after recent losses, continue to chase playoff aspirations.
In their last encounter, a memorable comeback by the Jets was marked by Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury.
The Bills now seek redemption at home, but their advantage is questionable, given the Broncos’ recent victory there. Buffalo’s shorter recovery time post-Monday Night game could be a disadvantage.
Scoring may be limited, challenging Buffalo to break through the Jets’ defence, which they have struggled to do previously.
While a Buffalo shutout isn’t out of the question, their defence has been less effective recently, ranking in the bottom five by EPA.
This puts added pressure on their offence to step up and secure a win against the Jets, whose offence has been less than formidable.
The Jets have the opportunity to secure another hard-fought victory, complete a season sweep, and leave Buffalo pondering their future strategies as they potentially face a 5-6 record.
Pick: Jets +7
Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Last week, the Jaguars and Titans’ offences combined for a mere nine points between them but don’t expect a repeat of that when they meet on Sunday.
Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars has been inconsistent, while the Titans’ rookie QB Will Levis is aiming to prove himself as the team’s future.
As Jacksonville vies to maintain its AFC South lead and the Titans eye a wild-card spot, this matchup is set to be competitive.
Despite a challenging Week 10, the Jaguars are favoured to narrowly win at home against a Titans team facing two consecutive losses.
Jacksonville’s offence needs to step up against the Titans, who boast talents like RB Derrick Henry and WR DeAndre Hopkins.
While the Titans faltered against Tampa Bay’s robust defence, they may find more opportunities against the Jaguars’ comparatively weaker defence, allowing Levis and his team to get back on track.
Pick: Jaguars +3
Seattle Seahawks vs L.A. Rams
Seattle narrowly clinched a win over the Washington Commanders with a last-second field goal, keeping them tied for the NFC West division lead at 6-3.
The Rams, meanwhile, are struggling at 3-6, having recently suffered a 20-3 defeat against the Green Bay Packers, which is pushing them out of contention in the NFC.
The Rams had an early triumph over Seattle in Week 1 with a 30-13 victory, but their fortunes have dipped since, losing six of their last eight games.
Matthew Stafford, recovering from a thumb injury, is expected to return, though his effectiveness remains uncertain after being able to grip and throw the ball in Monday’s practice.
Seattle, in contrast, is finding its rhythm, winning three of their last four games. Geno Smith has been a crucial player, throwing multiple touchdowns in each of these victories, except for a significant 37-3 defeat to Baltimore in Week 9.
The Rams’ offence has been lacklustre without Stafford, only scoring a field goal under Brett Rypien’s lead against Green Bay.
Given the Rams’ recent lack of productivity, it’s hard to place much confidence in them, making the Seahawks a more appealing pick.
Pick: Seattle Seahawks -1
