Goalkeeper – Emiliano Martínez
The Argentine has proven himself once again to be among the best in the world in his position, with Villa not looking the same team without him. His presence and personality contributed just as much as his performance to their top four finish this season.
Centre-Back – Benjamin White
A key part of Arsenal’s formidable defence, White has shown himself to be a versatile defender capable of handling all wingers thrown his way. It’s a real shame he’s made himself unavailable for Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 Squad.
Centre-Back – William Saliba
Essential to Arsenal’s title chase, Saliba is one of only two players to play every minute of this Premier League campaign. But no other player has been involved in as many clean sheets as the composed Frenchman, with an impressive 16.
Centre-Back – Virgil Van Dijk
The veteran Liverpool captain turned round some early season poor form to hit back at critics claiming he was past his best. Almost perfect displays in the second half of the season earned the imposing Dutchman a nomination for the Premier League player of the season.
Right Midfield – Cole Palmer
The Chelsea man is probably the main breakout star of this season’s action. With 32 league goal involvements, he’s looking like one of City’s few mistakes in the transfer market and will likely be in contention to represent his country this summer.
Centre Midfield – Declan Rice
Justifying his hefty price tag last summer, the England man has produced a season to remember. Controlling games with his impressive ability not only to win the ball, but be a key creative support to the attack.
Centre Midfield – Martin Ødegaard
One of the league’s most creative and entertaining players never fails to impress. The Norwegian is classy and composed at all times, creating the third most chances of anyone in the league and being the key focus of the division’s highest scoring team.
Centre Midfield – Kevin De Bruyne
One of the first names on CIty’s team sheet and on this list. The Belgiun midfielder isthe best in the world. After missing a few months out with injury, he came back with a bang. His importance for the champions cannot be understated, he just takes this City side to the next level. Consistancy and quality.
Left Midfield – Phil Foden
The Englishman has been tipped for years to produce season’s like this and he has been an absolute pleasure to watch. The local lad has shown why Guardiola has compared him to a young Leo Messi. With 17 goals and eight assists this season he deservedly won the Premier League’s Player of the Season.
Striker – Ollie Watkins
The all round threat of Watkins is one of the main factors in Aston Villa’s qualification for next season’s Champions League. He is versatile and dynamic, scoring all types of goals from any area. England are lucky to have him to support Harry Kane at this summer’s European Championships.
Striker – Erling Haaland
There’s not much that can be said about the Norwegian striker that hasn’t already been said. We’re running out of superlatives for the league’s two time top-scorer. You really do fear for premier league defences when he takes to the pitch again next season.
