What Happened Last Time?
The 2021 edition of the Copa America was hosted in Brazil and the home nation were hopeful of a famous win in front of their own fans.
But it did not quite go to script as Argentina stepped up to deliver the first international trophy of Messi’s career and break Brazilian hearts.
A first-half goal from Angel Di Maria saw Argentina beat Brazil 1-0 in the final at the iconic Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Betting Tips
Crown Jules
Manchester City’s Alvarez is one of football’s hottest properties right now. Regularly oozing class and often ruthless in front of goal, he is sometimes overlooked because of Erling Haaland’s brilliance – but he could play for any team of his choosing, that is how good he is. Alvarez to be Argentina’s top scorer is 3.50, while he is 11.00 to be named Player of the Tournament.
Argy Bargy
Argentina will go into the tournament full of confidence and what perhaps gives them an advantage over fierce rivals Brazil is depth of squad. Their defence is slightly more well-rounded and on paper, the striking options look superior. Argentina to reach the final is 1.72, while Lionel Scaloni’s side to lift the trophy and Messi to finish as top scorer is 8.00.
Clasico
That being said, Brazil are still one of the best teams in the world and it would be no shock whatsoever to see them reach the final at a canter. Argentina look to be the only side capable of stopping them and if the two were to meet on July 14, it would make for the most epic and entertaining of finales. The Brazil vs Argentina final is priced at 3.25.
