Preview

Spain have emerged as arguably the favourites to win this competition after their flawless group stage run, achieving maximum points whilst not conceding a single goal, all in the so-called ‘Group of Death’ containing Italy and Croatia.

They have a clear style established by Luis de la Fuente, which every player trusts and adheres to. Rodri, Pedri and Fabian Ruiz have acted as probably the best midfield in the competition and with breakout stars Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams on the flanks, Spain are able to capitalise on their prolonged periods of possession, converting this into chances and, more importantly, goals.

Their dominant approach to games can stifle Germany, who will not have as much of the ball to impose their own impact on the game. Defensively is the only area even open to slight criticism for La Roja, because everywhere else on the pitch, they are unbelievably good.

The Germans have also earned a reputation in this competition due their ruthless wins in the groups and dismantling of a very tough Denmark side in the last 16.

The perfect mix of youth and experience, Germany’s squad is one of the most well-rounded this summer and coach Nagelsmann seemingly knows how to make the most of it.

Veterans Toni Kroos and Manuel Neuer are still performing to a high standard, while further up the pitch Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Jamal Musiala have all dazzled – Musiala in particular, who has scored three goals at Euro 2024.

Germany are capable of exposing the defensive frailties in this Spain team and will provide a completely different challenge to any of their previous games.

Betting Tips

Smile Like You Lamine It

Spain’s main attacking threat this tournament has come from their exciting wingers. However, at times the finishing has been lacking, leading them to look for veteran striker Alvaro Morata to clean up. Spain to win and Morata to score is at 8.19.

Gundobirds Are Go!

As we mentioned earlier, this game is a clash of the titans and will be hotly contested from the outset. Both teams to score is at 1.72.

Wirtz Case Scenario

Additionally, it could be that the teams push each other so far they are not able to decide a winner in regulation time. The match to go to penalties is at 5.85
