Chelsea 5-1 Manchester City (2016)

Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard ran the show in this one as Chelsea punished a young, but still talented, City side in the 2015-16 FA Cup.

The Citizens were powerless to stop a dominant and free-scoring Chelsea side that included some of the best technicians the Premier League has ever seen.

Goals from Diego Costa, Willian, Gary Cahill, Bertrand Traore and the main Hazard took the game far out of City’s reach, as they were dumped out of the world’s oldest cup competition in devastating fashion.

Manchester City 6-0 Chelsea (2019)

But three years later, City got their own back on Chelsea through a Sergio Aguero masterclass in February of 2019 – and it is certainly a game the Blues and their supporters would rather choose to forget.

Hazard was, unsurprisingly, the only bright spark in a Chelsea side that struggled to win possession against a smothering City outfit that did not let their opposition so much as breathe for the whole 90 minutes.

There were goals aplenty as the Blues watched on hopelessly, the pick of the bunch being an Aguero screamer from outside the box, which piled on the misery for the West London side.

Manchester City 0-1 Chelsea (2021)

In terms of significance, this game is potentially the most important the two have ever played against each other. They met in the Champions League final of the 2020-21 season as both sides locked in and set their sights on Europe’s biggest trophy.

City went into the match in Porto as Premier League champions and many expected them to roll over a Chelsea side who had lost an FA cup final to Leicester in the week before.

It was a tense affair to start with, the game moving back and forth. But the decisive action was taken by Chelsea, Kai Havertz getting on the end of a magnificent Mason Mount pass and tapping home after rounding Ederson. It secured a historic win and extended City’s run without a Champions League triumph.

Chelsea 2-4 Manchester City (2010)

Another high scorer in which now Wales manager Craig Bellamy and Carlos Tevez shared the four City goals. It really was a game that had everything.

Frank Lampard netted both of Chelsea’s goals that day in 2010 and as well as the six goals scored overall, there was drama all over the park.

Two penalties, a Michael Ballack red card, Mike Dean antics, you name it and it happened at Stamford Bridge. An absolute classic game between the two sides and one that fans still talk about to this very day.

Chelsea 4-4 Manchester City (2023)

This back-and-forth affair really showcased what the Premier League is all about and why we all love it so much.

We had goals and drama galore as the two clubs shared the points in the 2023-24 season. Amazingly, the lead of the game changed hands as many as three times as the two teams fought ferociously in the London drizzle.

Erling Haaland netted twice but the decisive penalty was taken by ex-City academy graduate Cole Palmer, who clinched a 4-4 draw for the Blues in the dying embers of the classic encounter.
