Premier League Matchday 3 Acca

As the Premier League continues this weekend, more decisive points are up for grabs up and down the table at a stage where teams need to keep momentum to avoid being left adrift of the pack.

The additional element of the closure of the transfer window this Friday evening also has a huge effect, as teams can soon judge their business and see if they spent money correctly.

It does not get much bigger than the Premier League and this week, the featured match-up will be Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United, with Tottenham’s journey to Newcastle on the undercard. Read on for our weekend acca tips!

Arsenal to beat Brighton @ 1.32

*Odds are subject to change

The Gunners are flying so far in the Premier League with six points from six and they will hope to extend their 100% record this weekend. Arsenal will need to be close to perfect this season if they want to pip Manchester City to the post and earn their first title win in over 20 years.

They host a renewed Brighton side who have added a wealth of talent to their squad including Georginio Rutter, Matt O’Riley and Yankuba Minteh, with only Chelsea spending more among English top-flight sides so far this summer.

It is tough to say which of the new faces will feature this weekend – especially as O’Riley picked up an early injury during Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup – but regardless, we think Arsenal may still be too big of a challenge for the Seagulls’ newly-formed squad.

Liverpool to beat Manchester United @ 1.85

Truly a clash of the titans and one of the most historic clashes in world football, we have an absolute treat to look forward to this weekend.

Old Trafford, Manchester will be the stage for this epic match up but it is a bit of a shame it has come so soon in the season, when both sides seem to be just warming up. United have added numerous stars to their ranks but have not really got going yet, suffering a 2-1 loss at Brighton last weekend.

Liverpool have made minimal acquisitions but boast two wins and two clean sheets this term, despite not getting out of second gear. It should prove to be an interesting fixture – and we think that Arne Slot’s Reds will emerge victorious on their travels.

Newcastle to beat Tottenham @ 2.47

Due to Liverpool’s trip to Manchester, this tie could be slightly overlooked but may very well to prove to be just as interesting and entertaining. Both teams have ambitions of reaching the Champions League again and look to be in a good position to do so, looking at their squads.

Spurs have spent big on young talent such as Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to give the squad more energy, while Dominic Solanke’s arrival has solved the No9 problem.

But Newcastle can hurt teams in the blink of an eye with lightning-fast transition play from the likes of Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak. Despite an impressive 4-0 win over Leicester last week, we think Spurs will come up short at a ground they notoriously struggle at. They lost 4-0 at St James’ Park back in April.

Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.59

Big spenders Chelsea host a wounded Crystal Palace this weekend. The Blues have gone transfer wild, signing enough players over the summer months to build another team.

But their 6-2 win over Wolves last weekend suggests that things may be starting to click for Enzo Maresca’s side. Chelsea will want to be as close to the top of the table as possible come the end of the season and with Cole Palmer still in fine form, that might be a realistic aim.

Alternatively, Palace have lost key players this summer in Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen, hence why they have made a slow start with losses to Brentford and West Ham. Although, they did beat Norwich City 4-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

But still, a Chelsea team loaded with attacking weapons – including recent hat-trick hero Noni Madueke – should have too much for Oliver Glasner’s side at Stamford Bridge.
