Which international football side is the most valuable?
It is a question some of you lovers of the beautiful game may have asked yourself during the ongoing break from domestic football.
So, without further ado, NetBet provides the answer to that very question, with the values based on each nation’s latest squad for this international break.
NetBet is here to provide the best football odds and help with your sport bet throughout the international break and beyond.
5: Netherlands – £682 million
It is slightly surprising to see the Netherlands pip Germany, Argentina and Brazil to a place in an all-European top five.
However, when you cast your eye over the group of players available to manager Ronald Koeman, it is perhaps easier to see why the Oranje rank so high.
Xavi Simons (£67 million) is the most valuable Dutch player, while Cody Gakpo, Jeremie Frimpong, Teun Koopmeiners, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Micky van de Ven are all valued at over £40 million each.
4: Spain – £772 million
European champions Spain still make the top five even without the injured Rodri, who is one of the most valuable players in the world at £109 million.
The wealth of talent in the La Roja ranks these days is quite scary and it only looks like they will get better in the years to come.
Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal (£101 million) has seen his personal value skyrocket over the past 12 months and he may soon pip Erling Haaland to the ‘world’s most valuable player’ tag.
Other Spain stars with sizeable values include Pedri (£67 million), Nico Williams (£59 million) and Mikel Merino (£42 million).
3: Portugal – £824 million
Portugal’s current squad is perhaps the strongest it has ever been.
So it is no wonder that the nation’s overall value has shot up in recent years, with Premier League stars everywhere you look.
Bruno Fernandes (£55 million), Bernardo Silva (£59 million), Ruben Dias (£67 million) and Diogo Jota (£42 million) are just some of the names that spring to mind, while the likes of Vitinha (£46 million) and Rafael Leao (£75 million) are starring elsewhere in Europe’s top five leagues – and earning themselves big valuations in the process.
2: France – £835 million
With one of the strongest rosters in the world, which has been the case for many years now, it is no surprise to see France claim the silver medal here.
Amazingly, their valuation is still this high even without captain Kylian Mbappe (£150 million) in the squad. The Real Madrid star is unfortunately nursing an injury.
Some of the most valuable players at Didier Deschamps’ disposal include William Saliba (£67 million), Aurelien Tchouameni (£84 million), Eduardo Camavinga (£84 million), Bradley Barcola (£55 million) and Ousmane Dembele (£50 million).
When Mbappe is re-added to the squad, the overall valuation will be close to £1 billion.
1: England – £1.3 billion
Talking of billions, the most valuable squad in the world at this moment in time – possessed by England – comfortably eclipses that number.
And is that really much of a surprise?
Jude Bellingham (£150 million), Phil Foden (£126 million), Bukayo Saka (£118 million), Declan Rice (£101 million), Harry Kane (£84 million) and Cole Palmer (£75 million) are all among the 25 most valuable footballers in the world at the time of writing.
With so many players possessing enormous monetary numbers beside their names, it is no wonder the demand for the Three Lions to finally win a trophy is higher than ever.
Next up, the 2026 World Cup…
