Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.76
A London derby which both teams will be desperate to win.
Spurs have been largely dependable this season and have earned some fantastic results, including an unbeaten Europa League run which they extended against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday. But losses in the North London derby and to Brighton – after leading 2-0 – have led to some criticism.
Meanwhile, last season, Palace looked to be a promising side on the rise but they are currently languishing in 18th and without a win to their name this term. The loss of key player Michael Olise appears to be more significant than first thought. There is still a chance the Eagles may click as the campaign goes on, but for now, Spurs should be too much for Oliver Glasner’s strugglers.
West Ham vs Manchester United: Both teams to score @ 1.45
Two top sides full of talent battle it out in a lower mid-table clash. Hosts West Ham spent big in the summer and many expected that to kickstart a European charge, with opponents shivering at the thought of visiting the London Stadium. In reality, they are 15th with only two wins from eight.
But the Hammers will view United as the ideal scalp to give them a momentum boost. The Red Devils are sitting 12th and manager Erik Ten Hag is seemingly always on the brink of the sack due to their poor form.
Again, with a host of summer signings, early predictions looked good for United, but positive results have not materialised. The same story has been prevalent in the Europa League, where they are still without a win after a 1-1 draw with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce. So we think the poor defensive form of both sides will result in a bit of a thriller, with both teams on the scoresheet.
Arsenal to beat Liverpool @ 2.39
It seems ridiculous to say that this is one of the definitive games of this season’s Premier League at only Matchday 9 – but it is true!
After a shock loss to Bournemouth last week, Arsenal are licking their wounds, knowing that a similar result this weekend could have serious implications on their title dreams. Expecting Manchester City and Liverpool to lose is not unrealistic, but expecting them to squander a six or seven-point lead is much more far-fetched. The Gunners will be slightly heartened by a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, which should provide some much-needed confidence.
Liverpool somehow look just as good as last season under new manager Arne Slot and will be out to ruin a fierce rival’s trophy prospects – especially after a convincing win at RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday. But even with their fitness doubts, we think Arsenal have the character to pull out a big performance on Sunday.
Fulham to beat Everton @ 2.54
After a rough start to the season, the situation at Everton looked dire and talks of relegation were getting louder and louder. But after losing only one of their last five games, things seem to be looking up.
Their upswing seems to have its roots in South Yorkshire, with ex-Sheffield United players Dominic Calvert Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye driving the Toffees out of the relegation zone and into the conversation of the most in-form teams in the division.
But that being said, Fulham have looked equally – if not more – impressive this term. In 10th currently, summer signings Emile Smith Rowe, Joachim Andersen, Reiss Nelson and Sander Berge have so far delivered the goods, evidenced by their results. For this reason, we fancy the Cottagers to pick up their fourth win of the campaign.
