Liverpool to beat Bayer Leverkusen @ 1.72
With a win over Brighton this weekend catapulting them to the top of the Premier League, Liverpool will be feeling confident. And while Leverkusen may not hold the same mystique as they did during last season’s incredible unbeaten run, they are still serious contenders and cannot be overlooked, even by the top teams.
Liverpool boast maximum points in the competition and will be hoping to extend their streak. But Leverkusen also boast an unbeaten record, beating Feyenoord and AC Milan, with the only slip up coming in the form of a 1-1 draw with Brest last time out.
It is set to be a game worthy of the glamour of the Champions League – and we believe Arne Slot’s side have what it takes to take all three points.
Inter Milan and Arsenal to draw @ 3.05
Inter Milan vs Arsenal is one of the highlights of Matchday 4 due to the immense reputation and history of both of the clubs involved. But it is a tale of differing fortunes in the current climate of the two sides.
Inter are grinding out results the way champions do, with 1-0 wins and hard-fought points leaving them second in the Serie A and only one point behind Napoli. Whereas Arsenal are on the edge of a downward spiral that, if they are not careful, could define their season.
But their European form has been excellent so far and the Gunners will hope a positive showing at San Siro boosts their domestic displays. A fascinating contest in the making, with the final result prediction a tough, hard-fought draw.
RB Leipzig to beat Celtic @ 2.15
Celtic are sitting pretty at the top of the Scottish Premiership but in Europe, things have been far tougher. A dominant 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava raised their spirits, but they were brought back down to earth by a 7-1 hammering at the hands of Borussia Dortmund. Although the 0-0 draw with Atalanta was certainly an admirable result.
Leipzig were on a five-game winning streak in the Bundesliga, going toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich at the top, but they stumbled last weekend by losing to Dortmund. And in the Champions League they have struggled, though admittedly in the face of tough opposition, losing to Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool.
So Celtic may very well fancy their chances on home soil, although we think Leipzig’s star-studded attack will ultimately be too hot to handle for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Aston Villa vs Club Brugge: Both teams to score @ 1.64
Coming off a tough week which included two losses, Aston Villa will want to put in a serious shift to get back to winning ways. So far they have been spotless in Europe, winning all three games and sitting top of the table, even claiming a victory over German giants Bayern.
Club Brugge, on the other hand, are eager to keep moving up the Champions League table, with aspirations of qualification on their minds. They currently have three points after a 1-0 win over Sturm Graz, but more is required, so a statement of intent in the form of a victory over their visitors from Birmingham would be ideal.
We think this will be a great game between two historic teams, with both to get on the scoresheet in the 90 minutes.
