Spain to beat Denmark @ 1.80
Spain have predictably been flying in the Nations League but the Danes have built up some momentum themselves and will not go down without a fight.
La Roja have chosen to call up promising youngsters Marc Casado (Barcelona) and Samu Omorodion (Porto) to bolster their already impressive squad. This will be especially useful after the withdrawal of starlet Lamine Yamal due to injury.
Denmark sit second in the group, just three points behind Spain, so their motivation will be at an all-time high it could be a much tighter game than some may anticipate. Even so, we are backing the European champions to win on their travels.
England to beat Greece @ 1.80
Last time these two faced each other at Wembley, Greece pulled off one of the shocks of the tournament. In a fitting tribute to the late George Baldock, they produced a heroic display to win 2-1.
But with promotion on the line and a young, hungry squad, England will be looking to retrieve the points they lost last time around. Although, Lee Carsley’s side have been struck with a bit of an injury crisis, with several key players set to miss out, including Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
Greece are in sublime form and are yet to lose a game in this Nations League campaign – and another win over the Three Lions on Thursday would secure their promotion to League A. But even so, England should still have enough quality to win.
Belgium and Italy to draw @ 3.17
It is all set to be a cracker between Belgium and Italy, who are both going through transitional periods.
Similarly, they will both be relying on players relatively new to the international stage to power them forward and into a new era. Johan Bakayoko and Lois Openda are ones to keep an eye on for Belgium, while sharp shooter Mateo Retegui will be Italy’s main attacking focus.
Belgium will need a miracle to reach the quarter-finals from third place and a six-point gap to leaders Italy. But they could make some ground with a huge win in Brussels on Thursday. However, Italy’s motivation is equally as clear, needing to keep the points coming to stave off France and qualify. So we are predicting an entertaining draw between two giants of the modern game.
Scotland vs Croatia: Both teams to score @ 1.73
Steve Clarke’s Scotland have struggled for form in the Nations League and sit bottom of the group, almost certain for relegation. They are without a win in the campaign and have only achieved one point after a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Portugal last time out.
But they are undoubtedly building momentum and have shown fans there is reason to be hopeful with strong performances and a youthful side. Croatia, however, are challenging leaders Portugal all the way, hoping to overtake them in the final two matchdays.
As such, they will be highly motivated to come out on top on this occasion, as they did the last time the two faced off (a 2-1 win). While the outcome may be the same, we think Scotland will push Croatia all the way and both teams will find the net.
