Australia vs India: Test Form in 2024
The India team enters this series right on the back of a devastating 3-0 loss to New Zealand on home soil.
It represented the first time that India had lost a home series in 12 years, with skipper Rohit Sharma and the legendary figure of Virat Kohli both failing to deliver anything of substance.
As such, the pressure is on the visitors in the harsh, unforgiving cricket environment that is Australia.
The Aussies have not played a Test since March, when they beat New Zealand by three wickets to claim a 2-0 series win away from home. However, they did show some frailties in the series prior to that as they were held 1-1 by the West Indies thanks to Shamar Joseph’s bowling heroics at the Gabba.
Before their aforementioned series defeat to New Zealand, India claimed comprehensive victories over Bangladesh (2-0) and England (4-1).
This contest is a rematch of the 2023 World Test Championship Final at The Oval, which Australia won by 209 runs thanks in part to a stellar display from Travis Head – who was named Player of the Match.
Australia vs India: First Test Odds

Australia are heavy favourites in Perth at 1.43. India are priced at 3.31, while the draw is at 10.00. As long as the weather holds firm, a draw looks incredibly unlikely with the batting and bowling talent set to be on show.

Whenever Australia take to the field in Tests, captain Cummins leads by example. And when the lights are brightest, that is when the world-class quick shows the best version of himself.
