PDC World Darts Championship 2025: Preview, Odds & Tips

It is time for one of the year’s great sporting spectacles.

Some associate the Christmas period with presents and decorations, others think of only one thing – the PDC World Darts Championship!

The last edition of the tournament was typically drama-packed, culminating in an epic finale between teenage sensation Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.

World No1 Humphries eventually prevailed to claim his first world title and he will be desperate to retain the crown following a successful 2024.

PDC World Darts Championship 2025 Preview

The annual highlight on the darting calendar will once again be held at the Alexandra Palace in London, with 96 players taking part.

And it all begins on Sunday, December 15, with the finale scheduled for Friday, January 3.

There will be darting drama almost every day across that period, aside from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve.

The total prize pool for the latest edition of the World Darts Championship is a staggering £2,500,000.

A whopping £500,000 will be handed to the winner of the event, with the runner-up collecting £200,000 and the other semi-finalists pocketing a cool £100,000.

Every single match at the tournament will be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Chris Dobey – 41.00

It is no shock to see the two Lukes at the top of the pile. Littler has enjoyed a quite incredible debut year, winning the Premier League, the World Series of Darts and the Grand Slam of Darts.

After winning the world title back in January, Humphries added the World Matchplay crown to his CV and also won the Players Championship Finals, beating Littler in the finale.

It is initially hard to look past one of them lifting the trophy, although only a fool would rule out veterans like Anderson and Van Gerwen, both of whom have huge pedigree on the Ally Pally stage.

And Belgian sensation De Decker is perhaps the best outsider on the list following his spectacular win at the World Grand Prix, while in-form youngsters Nijman and Van Veen should deservedly attract attention.

Also, given the fact former winner Cross is ranked No5 in the world, his long odds look very tempting indeed.

Remember, this year has featured some shock results in major tournaments, including Ritchie Edhouse’s win at the European Championship, so it is perhaps wise not to focus solely on Littler and Humphries.

PDC World Darts Championship 2025 Betting Tips

Gary Anderson to reach the final @ 4.00

Because Littler and Humphries have been drawn in the same half and are therefore on for a collision in the semi-finals, this looks a great shout. Two-time winner and five-time finalist Anderson is in fantastic form too, which really makes the bet really stand out.

Final Forecast – Luke Littler vs Gary Anderson @ 8.50

With the above in mind, if you are feeling a bit braver you could more than double the odds by wagering on a Littler vs Anderson final. A Humphries vs Anderson clash on January 3 is priced at 9.00.

Tournament Nine Dart Finish – Yes @ 1.50

The standard of professional darts just seems to keep getting better and better. As such, we would be shocked if there is not a Nine Dart Finish to send the Ally Pally crowd wild.

Most Tournament 180s – Luke Humphries @ 4.50

While Littler has established himself as the 180 king on the professional circuit, you cannot rule out the high-scoring Humphries in this market. The reigning champion hit the most 180s in the 2024 tournament with a staggering 73.
