In the first full gameweek of 2025, we have got some incredible fixtures to enjoy. After enduring the gruelling Christmas period, January has the table looking vastly different and teams will have a better idea of what they need to do to achieve their goals this season. From top to bottom, there will be fierce battles every week.

Newcastle to beat Tottenham @ 2.26
Newcastle are on a roll at the moment, storming up the Premier League table with four straight wins, leaving them just three points outside the top four. In-form striker Alexander Isak is cementing his place as one of the league’s elite forwards as the Magpies continue to impress against the division’s top teams. And this weekend, we think they will be too much for a Tottenham side that has struggled for form this season, being as inconsistent as they are unpredictable.
Brentford to beat Southampton @ 2.50
Rock bottom of the Premier League, Southampton have achieved just six points this season and will be hoping their luck changes under new manager Ivan Juric. But change will be hard to come by against a Brentford side that have managed some impressive wins already this campaign. Thomas Frank’s team are in patchy form but show consistent quality, especially in their dynamic front line, which we think will be sufficient enough to overcome the Saints this weekend.
Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace @ 1.96
After a slow start to their campaign, Crystal Palace are finding their feet and have shown some impressive form of late, earning points in four of their last five matches. But the visit of Chelsea will prove a tough test for anyone this season. The Blues have lost some significant ground on leaders Liverpool through some recent disappointing results. So they will be keen to get back to winning ways this weekend and with their talented squad, Enzo Maresca’s side should rebuild some momentum.
Arsenal to beat Brighton @ 1.80
Without a win in their last five, Brighton are in dire need of a big victory. The Seagulls’ recent form is confusing, as their talented, young squad has looked incredibly exciting under new manager Fabian Hurzeler at times. But Arsenal are a different proposition, looking to get back into the title race and every single point counts, so they will give up no ground. The Gunners have suffered a string of unfortunate injuries this term, including recently to star man Bukayo Saka, but this did not seem to affect them against Brentford mid-week (3-1 win) and we think Mikel Arteta’s side will produce a similar performance on Matchday 20 to secure another three points.
