The Commanders reached the NFC final with an away victory against the Detroit Lions, tallying 45 points to the hosts’ 31.
It was a performance which should give them confidence ahead of a visit to Lincoln Financial Field and a game against the Eagles.
The Eagles beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in their Divisional Round match, although a knee injury picked up by star quarterback Jalen Hurts is cause for concern ahead of Sunday. Although, it is expected that he will be passed fit to start the crucial match.
Looking at the odds, the Eagles are at 1.34 to win and reach the Super Bowl, while the Commanders are significant underdogs at a price of 3.25.
In the battle for AFC glory, the odds are much, much closer.
The Chiefs, who have won the last two Super Bowls, are slight favourites at 1.75 after beating the Houston Texans 23-14 in their Divisional Round clash.
Their latest opponents the Bills are currently at odds of 2.06 to win the AFC and subsequently qualify for the biggest fixture in American football.
Much of the focus will be on Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes, who has been typically brilliant throughout the season and deals with the pressures of fame and expectation better than most professional athletes.
Mahomes collected the Super Bowl MVP award in all three of his side’s victories this century (2020, 2023, 2024) and he will desperate for a fourth shot at the individual accolade.

When the Eagles last hosted the Commanders in November, they won 26-18. But in the reverse fixture a month later, the Commanders bounced back with a 36-33 victory.
And the Chiefs will be out for revenge in their fixture after suffering a 30-21 defeat in Buffalo late last year, a match in which Bills quarterback Josh Allen somewhat upstaged his counterpart Mahomes.
