Fenerbahce to beat Anderlecht @ 2.39
After scraping into the play-offs in 24th, Fenerbahce flexed their footballing muscles in the first leg. Jose Mourinho’s side ran out 3-0 winners in Istanbul, effectively ending Anderlecht’s participation in European competition. Dusan Tadic, Edin Dzeko and Youssef En-Nesyri were all on the scoresheet and the wealth of attacking options available to the manager leads us to think that Fenerbahce will only increase their aggregate lead in Belgium. Anderlecht are on a run of three consecutive defeats in the Europa League, conceding nine goals in that time.
FCSB to beat PAOK @ 2.77
FCSB defied the odds somewhat to pick up a huge 2-1 win away at PAOK in the first leg. But the Romanian side only lost two of their League Phase encounters, so it is rather strange that they are slight underdogs for the second leg. However, that provides a great chance to boost those acca odds, with FCSB winning the last three matches across all competitions. PAOK do come into this game on the back of a 7-0 thrashing of Lamia, but we are still siding with the seemingly underrated hosts.
Galatasaray to beat AZ Alkmaar @ 1.62
Galatasaray’s 4-1 defeat at AZ in the first leg was arguably the shock result of the round. Still unbeaten in the Turkish Super Lig and with a genuine superstar in Victor Osimhen, the defeat came out of the blue. So Gala have to come out all guns blazing in Istanbul and on home soil, they are pretty formidable. We expect them to secure victory, but can they overturn a three-goal deficit? We will soon find out!
Ajax to beat Union Saint-Gilloise @ 1.77
Ajax are absolutely flying right now and sit top of the Eredivisie table after a superb run of victories. The Amsterdam outfit won the first leg in Belgium 2-0 and are well on course for a place in the last 16. And Ajax’s home form this season has been quite special, winning 10 of 11 in the Eredivisie and drawing the other, conceding just seven goals in the process. It really is a tall order for USG and we think they will fall short, especially after suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Mechelen last Sunday.
