They have also mustered just one win in the last four across all competitions, although City’s 4-0 thrashing of Newcastle last weekend was one of only two wins in the previous five – a run which includes the 5-1 humbling (excuse the pun) at Arsenal.
When these two met at Anfield earlier in the season, the Reds walked away with a comfortable 2-0 victory.
