Chelsea vs Tottenham Preview

Chelsea’s recent form has been inconsistent, with two consecutive defeats in the league followed by back-to-back wins and then a 1-0 loss at Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou’s visitors are three without a success in the top flight and last tasted victory at relegation-threatened Ipswich in late February.

Of course, Spurs did beat AZ Alkmaar 3-1 shortly before the international break to secure passage to the Europa League quarter-finals, although they did also lose the first leg in the Netherlands 1-0.

The North London outfit just cannot seem to get their season going and it is no surprise to see them sitting 14th in the table with 15 losses on the board.

Defensively, Spurs have been a shambles all campaign, throwing away leads for fun and conceding 43 goals. They led 2-0 against Chelsea in the reverse fixture, only to end up losing 4-3.

But in attack, Postecoglou’s side have been fantastic, scoring the same number of goals (55) as second-placed rivals Arsenal having played a game less.

However, Chelsea will still feel confident of doing the double over Spurs, particularly with striker Nicolas Jackson back available after injury.

The Blues have the fourth-best home record in the division, with only Manchester City and Fulham leaving Stamford Bridge with all three points so far this season.

Furthermore, Spurs’ Premier League away record in 2024-25 reads eight defeats in 14 matches.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Betting Tips

Chelsea first goalscorer – Cole Palmer @ 3.00

It has been a tricky time of late for Palmer, but the Englishman got a welcome rest over the international break and looks set to return tomorrow from a minor thigh injury. He scored twice in the 4-3 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Over 5 yellow cards in the match @ 2.30

Whenever Chelsea and Spurs lock horns, tempers seem to flare. The Blues also lead the way for yellow cards in the Premier League this season with a whopping 79.

Chelsea to win and over 3.5 goals in the match @ 2.85

In three of the last five meetings between the pair, over 3.5 goals were scored in the match. So this is a handy road to go down if you want to boost the odds on a Chelsea win.
