Chelsea to beat Brentford – 20/59
Chelsea have lost just once at home in 22 games this season – a defeat to league leaders Manchester City in September. They will host a Brentford side that haven’t fared well away from home of late, losing six of their last eight on the road. Thomas Frank’s side will make the short trip to Stamford Bridge with their hopes resting firmly on Ivan Toney’s shoulders. The Bees’ record against the top six doesn’t make for good reading, and we’re not convinced that’s going to change this weekend.
West Ham to beat Everton – 10/13
Any confidence built with Alex Iwobi’s 99th minute winner against Newcastle was quickly abolished in a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Crystal Palace. The football romantics won’t want to see the Toffees go down – no team has spent more seasons in the English top-flight – but the fixtures aren’t getting any easier for Frank Lampard’s side. The Hammers have won four of their last five at home, and with their European dreams well and truly alive, we can’t see Everton being a match for them.
Bournemouth to beat Bristol City – 20/51
Bournemouth come into this game off the back of three straight wins against Bristol City, including a dominant 2-0 win in the reverse fixture. Scott Parker’s side are edging closer to securing automatic promotion every week, and it’s not beyond the realms of possible that they could catch his former side Fulham. Dominic Solanke has scored in three consecutive games, and the 24-year-old will fancy his chances of finding the net again against a City side that have lost 10 of their last 13 away games.
Fulham to beat QPR – 20/31
To put it plainly, Fulham are levels above the rest of the Championship this season. Not only have they scored 90 goals in 37 games, but they also have the second-best defensive record in the league. Aleksandar Mitrovic is having a ridiculous season, with 35 goals in as many games – he’s scored more than three teams. Only one team has picked up fewer points than QPR in the last 10 games, and with chief creator Chris Willock sidelined through injury, there doesn’t look to be much hope for the Hoops.
Wigan to beat Bolton – 10/11
Wigan have lost just once at home since October and will rise to the summit of League One if they win their games in hand. They will host a Bolton side in decent form, but the Latics proved the gulf in quality earlier this season when they beat them 4-0 in their own backyard. Will Keane has scored four in his last five starts, and he’ll be looking to fire his side to the top of the table this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday to beat AFC Wimbledon – 10/27
Wednesday have won eight of their last 10 home games, Wimbledon haven’t won in 21 outings – it doesn’t make for good reading for the travelling fans. Whilst the hosts are in a strong position to qualify for the play-offs and boast the best home record in the league, their opponents are being dragged deeper and deeper into a relegation scrap. This game looks like it will be one-way traffic.
Salford City to beat Hartlepool – 7/5
Although these two teams sit next to each other in the table, their form has been trending in different directions. Hartlepool have won just one of their last five, while Salford are unbeaten in 10. It will be a tight game, but Salford can’t afford to drop points if they are going to place themselves in play-off contention.
Port Vale to beat Barrow – 21/20
Barrow might be fighting for their lives in the football league, but you wouldn’t know it – they’ve won just once in their last 10 outings. The tough run continues this weekend as they prepare to host a Port Vale side chasing automatic promotion. The visitors have won four of their last five and victory over Barrow could see them climb into the top three.
