Tottenham vs Wolves Football Preview & Odds
These two sides will meet after very contrasting starts to the campaign. Wolves suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Leeds in their season opener, followed by a 0-0 draw at home to newly promoted Fulham. Spurs kicked things off in style with a 4-1 hammering of Southampton and rescued a point late on at Stamford Bridge in their last outing.
The hosts are 20/57 favourites as they look to make it seven points from a possible nine, with the visitors Wolves 27/4 underdogs. Whilst Antonio Conte’s side will be expected by most to get the job done in North London, their recent home record against Wolves doesn’t make for particularly good reading – they have lost three of the last four on home soil against this weekend’s opposition.
That being said, their form is trending in different directions. Spurs’ front three looks to be building up a head of steam, and it’s only a matter of time before Heung-Min Son joins his teammates in opening his account for the season. Harry Kane has netted four goals in eight appearances against Wolves, making him the best option to open the scoring at 5/2, with Dejan Kulusevski at 9/2 also a solid choice.
Wolves don’t very often get dragged into end-to-end high scoring affairs. They are compact defensively and look to build steadily through the thirds. None of the last four league meetings between these sides have seen more than two goals, and we don’t expect this weekend to be the exception. Spurs have the momentum and they should be able to navigate a tricky fixture and come out on top.

Spurs win, under 2.5 goals, Harry Kane first goalscorer – 8/1
Spurs to win
Conte has levelled Spurs up since his arrival, instilling a tenacity and ruthlessness we have not previously seen in the North London club. If they are to be amongst the top four once again come the end of the season, this is the sort of match they cannot afford to slip up in.
Under 2.5 goals
Bruno Lage sets up his team to be defensively sound as a priority – their goals against record last season was proof of that. Unfortunately for Wolves fans, it appears they are still lacking that killer instinct up front, and we expect many of their games to be low scoring affairs this year.
Harry Kane first goalscorer
Kane is the best suited to deal with the physicality of Wolves. He has fantastic service coming from either flank, and he is as good as any centre half in the league at attacking the ball in the air. He will be key for Conte this season.
