Thomas Tuchel became the second Premier League manager sacked this season after just six games! The shock announcement came on Wednesday morning following Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League group stage.

Hiring Potter would represent a complete culture shift at the club. Chelsea have always hired the big names. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have made the right decisions over the years. His adaptability makes him perfect for English football, and although he doesn’t come with the superstar status, maybe that’s what Chelsea need – an intelligent coach with less care for the name on the back of the shirt and more focus on the quality of the player.

This one does not come without its risks. Zidane has been without a club for a little over a year and has only ever managed in Madrid. That being said, his record with Los Blancos was phenomenal. It goes without saying that Madrid’s team during Zidane’s tenure was simply obscene, but nobody has dominated Europe the way he did. There’s a lot of work to do at Chelsea, but Zidane could be the man to do it.
Diego Simeone – Atletico Madrid

Chelsea fans won’t be particularly pleased to see Diego Simeone’s name on the list – Tuchel’s style wasn’t exactly the most thrilling. But what Simeone teams lack in style, they make up for in pragmatism.
Chelsea’s list of defenders is impressive to say the least. Surely Simeone would relish the opportunity to coach that back five? The Argentine is a marmite character – you probably dislike him if you’re anyone other than an Atletico fan. Whilst Chelsea fans might not be keen now, a few 1-0 wins under Simeone might start to change minds.
Brendan Rodgers – Leicester

This is an outside shot, but maybe not the worst appointment. Sure, he is struggling with Leicester and looked one of the favourites to be next sacked, but we have seen what Rodgers is capable of at a big club.
After just two years with Liverpool, he took the Reds to within two points of the Premier League title. The problem is, will he be given two years at Chelsea?
