Fulham vs Brentford Preview
Hosts Fulham will be hoping to take advantage of Brentford’s poor away form by claiming a win that will see them leapfrog their West London neighbours. Brentford have lost all four of their games away from home this season, but to be fair to the Bees, these defeats have been at Liverpool (2-0), Manchester City (2-1), Tottenham (3-1), and Manchester United (2-1). Thankfully, it has been a stark contrast to what they have been able to do at the Gtech Community Stadium, where they have won all but one of the five games and remain unbeaten.
Brentford have coped well so far without Ivan Toney, who left for pastures new over the summer. Bryan Mbeumo (8) and Yoane Wissa (4) have scored 12 of Brentford 18 goals in the league, but it is perhaps the 18 goals conceded and no clean sheets that is of bigger concern.
Fulham’s remodelled attack will look to capitalise on these defensive frailties, with the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Adama Traore and a rejuvenated Raul Jimenez leading the line. Smith Rowe has already begun to fulfil the potential that he had shown since breaking into the Arsenal first team in 2021-22. Now with regular playing time again, he has contributed two goals and two assists in nine appearances.
Jimenez has four goals to his name already, finally looking like the threat he was once upon a time at Wolves. Similarly, Traore has shown signs of returning to the most effective version of the player that caught the attention while also in the West Midlands.
Fulham have neatly split their first nine games equally – three each of wins, draws and losses – and with the level of investment made last summer, the players and staff may have ambitions of qualifying for European football next season. If that is the case, winning games like this has to be a prerequisite.
These two seem very evenly matched, but it is difficult to look past Brentford’s away record as the deciding factor in a game that is close to call.

Fulham vs Brentford Betting Tips
Outcome and Both To Score – Fulham and Yes @ 3.38
Brentford have scored plenty while conceding just as many, so a home win with both teams on the scoresheet seems a sensible prediction.
Anytime Goalscorer – Yoane Wissa @ 4.33
It is a very tempting price for a player who has four goals in six appearances this season, and is second only to Mbeumo as Brentford’s biggest goal threat.
First Goal Time – 1-10 minutes @ 3.31
Brentford have scored the most goals in the opening 10 minutes of games in the Premier League this season with four. Can they make that five against the Cottagers?
