Europa League Matchday 6 – Betting Tips

Europa League Matchday 6 Betting Tips

We are entering the latter stages of the new-look League Phase in the Europa League, with just three matchdays left to play.

It has certainly not been plain sailing for the Premier League teams thus far, with both Tottenham and Manchester United outside the automatic qualification places.

This just shows the continued strengthening of the Europa League as a product and it is no surprise that it has become such a popular competition to bet on.

With that in mind, NetBet has taken a look at all the Matchday 6 fixtures and provided some betting tips for your Acca, complete with the latest football odds.

Manchester United to beat Viktoria Plzen @ 1.58

Ruben Amorim’s arrival at United is yet to really kickstart a revival, with the Red Devils losing their last two matches in the Premier League to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.

So, a win against Plzen is simply a must to help build confidence but it will not be easy against the Czech side, who are currently level on points with the English outfit and behind on only goal difference.

Plzen also boast a home win over Real Sociedad in this edition of the Europa League, however, we still think Amorim’s side have enough firepower to claim a key away win.

Galatasaray to beat Malmo @ 2.02

Galatasaray are unbeaten in the Europa League, winning three of five matches – including a 3-2 triumph over Tottenham.

They are also the competition’s joint-top scorers with 13 goals, while Thursday’s hosts Malmo have conceded 10.

The Swedish side are 30th in the table with four defeats in five, so all the numbers point to a comfortable win for Gala.

AS Roma to beat Braga @ 1.73

The 2024-25 season has been really difficult for Roma, with the Giallorossi sitting 11th in Serie A.

However, there is optimism that new manager Claudio Ranieri can steady the ship and last weekend’s 4-1 win over Lecce should have given morale a much-needed boost.

Roma have only won one match out of five in Europe, but drew 2-2 with Tottenham on Matchday 5 and with perhaps renewed vigour, they can see off Braga at the Stadio Olimpico.

Athletic Bilbao to beat Fenerbahce @ 3.13

Athletic Bilbao are shining in Europe this term, with four wins and a draw leaving them second in the table.

And back-to-back wins over Real Madrid and Villarreal in La Liga will surely only provide assistance heading into a match in which they are underdogs in terms of odds.

Fenerbahce is never an easy place to go, especially with Jose Mourinho at the helm, but the Spanish side possess the form and quality to silence the passionate home crowd in Istanbul.

Lazio to beat Ajax @ 2.90

Another match in which we are not backing the favourite.

Lazio top the Europa League table on goal difference and will arrive in Amsterdam on the back of a superb 1-0 away victory over Serie A title rivals Napoli.

In contrast, Ajax lost 2-1 to AZ Alkmaar last weekend and were beaten 2-0 by Sociedad on Matchday 5, so we think there is great value in betting on a Lazio victory here.
